Horrible Gym, Bad Staff 7/15/2010

Filthy gym. Beware of high pressure sales tactics. Staff only cares about headcount because they are desperate. Also, once you're signed they will try to screw you with the small print. Cons: filthy, bad managers, bad trainers, tricky contract more

class action lawsuit coming 4/23/2010

The gym was ok. It had plenty of equipment. My issue with this gym is that they are the kind of gym that will try to push trainer sessions at extra cost until they get tired. But the worse experience was the charges after cancelling the membership. They retain the last month paid with the first month on top the additional month that they charge you after giving a 30 days notice. I told them that was against the law and asked them not to charge me again. They still did to me and my wife. Bottom line, after you've given a 30 days notice you will end paying 2 months worth of service when you shouldn't. Illegal practice but lesson will be learnt - soon they will receive a class action lawsuit just like 24 hour fitness did. Pros: plenty of equipment. trainers Cons: management and charge practices. more

I just want to say that after this gym flipping through managers that the current management is wonderful! The staff is more friendly, the facility is cleaner, they generally seem to have finally gotten it together! Pros: Management improvement! Finally! Cons: Previous Management Experience more

Xplore Fitness Got Me Into Shape 9/20/2009

I'm really happy about my membership to Xplore. It's located about three blocks from where I work in downtown Seattle, so I love the location. The hours aren't 24 hour unfortunately, but most days it's open from 5:00 AM until 10:00 PM, which is pretty nice. The equipment is clean, the staff is friendly and the other patrons are pretty normal. more

convenient but rude and dirty 6/9/2009

I've been a member at this gym 3 times in the past 8 years or so. Originally, it was pure fitness but I didn't notice much difference. It is so convenient I tried to make it my gym, but three registrations and three cancellations for me. Pros: location, dues Cons: staff, management, hours, facilities, cleanliness, policies more

Friendly, supportive atmosphere... loving the outdoor excursions 6/24/2008

This is the first review I've ever written on one of these sites... which is a testament to how highly I think of Xplore. Good old-fashioned wanting to spread the word. It's got a great vibe from the second you walk in, and you get the sense that everyone - members and staff - genuinely enjoys being there. Really, if you're downtown and have a few minutes to stop in, you'll see what I mean. I have never enjoyed going to the gym before, and I now actually find myself looking forward to going after work everyday (WEIRD). They've got a lot of activities going on that are all included in the membership... I've tried out some classes and I went on a weekend hike led by one of the trainers. Good stuff... they've got a lot of excursions I'm looking forward to checking out. And if you're looking for new people in your life, it's actually pretty easy to make friends at Xplore. Pros: Friendly/no-pressure staff, plenty of machines more

I finally like working out! 6/20/2008

I've always dreaded going to the gym in the past but did anyway but with very little enthusiasm... After my two free sessions with Madison at Xplore, and taking a few of the outdoor classes, I've finally gotten excited about getting in shape! Madison also agreed to work with me once a month for no extra charge. I love this gym! Pros: Huge facility, great staff, lots of extras! Cons: Free parking only from 4-7 more

Good gym, especially with the trainers 9/13/2007

I joined Xplore Fitness through my office, which has some sort of corporate deal with them. Because of this, I didn't have to pay a joining fee and my monthly fee is less than usual. In addition, the gym offers two free consultations with a personal trainer as well as monthly checkups. Pros: Inexpensive, personal trainers, not crowded Cons: Too hot, small locker room, can't bring own lock more

Talk about GREAT service!!!!! 4/11/2007

This is the most innovative smart gym I have ever been to. I am constantly amazed at how tuned in they are to my needs and my health. Basically I am in LOVE!!! Pros: Help you kick butt at your sport!!! Cons: Nothing more

Best Gym Ever? Almost.. 4/6/2007

I have been a member of Xplore Fitness since February. My experience at Xplore has been nothing but pleasant. It is so close to my office, I like to go for my cardio before I start work. The reception desk is always ready to welcome you with a smile, a ""Good Morning!"" greeting & complimentary towel service. The new tanning beds are awesome and they always have one available, I have even seen employees from other gyms go there to tan! They are that good. You get a free personal training session when you sign up for membership (mine was with John, an ex-Marine, he really taught me a lot in that hour) & they have something called an ""Outdoor Concierge"" to get you active outdoors. He creates a calendar every month of recommended outdoor & fitness-related activities you can participate in, it is very informative! The most important thing I can say about Xplore is that not once have I ever felt pressured into buying personal training, supplements, or even to sign up for membership. Pros: Location, Ample Equipment, Friendly Staff Cons: Weekend Hours, Parking Difficult more
