The Best Korean BBQ 5/8/2010

I tried many korean restaurant to enjoy them with my friends. Most of food, I like BBQ and Bibibap the most. Woo Chon's BBQ is the top of the korean restaurants. The quality of meat is very fresh and delicious. Service is also great. I forgot her name Mrs......she is very friendly. I got Soju with BBQ, that's fantastic... more

Best Korean Ever! 6/25/2008

Ate at Woo Chon last Thursday night. It was fantastic. The service was flawless and the owner so sweet. They were very helpful and kind. Took my best friend who had a bad Korean meal the last time and she loved it. She is a very, very picky eater and even she said she would go back and eat there again. Absolutely wonderful and we will be back. Pros: Awesome cuisine Cons: A little pricey. more

menu needs to be updated. I ordered shrimp fried rice & Godoong - O Dwenjang but it cost me bit over $40 when it says that fried rice is $8.99 & Godoong-O Dwenjang is $15.99 which is $24.98 and should not be over $30 even with the tax & delivery!\r Also, there were no chopsticks, spoons or forks. and even though I order Godoong - O Dwenjang, there was no Dwenjang! the lady who took phone order was very nice but I'm so disappointed with food!!! more

Best Korean BBQ 12/29/2007

Woo Chon is the best Korean food I've had in New York City and I've eaten my way through many Manhattan Korean restuarants. I don't feel the need to go anywhere else. The BBQ sides are fabulous and they are happy to bring a bit more of something you liked and will exclude foods you might like to avoid. The staff is so excited to have you try new tastes that they will actually bring small amounts to the table, explain what it is and show you how to eat it. Clearly the Korean community knows this restaurant well since you will likely be the only non-Koreans in the restaurant. Sit downstairs, order the Golbi, and enjoy. Pros: Savory food, attentive staff more

Tasty Food and Friendly Service 2/18/2007

Went to Woo Chon to experience table bbq in a big group (12). Service was friendly and attentive. Bbq dishes were very well seasoned and tasty (Galbi and Spicy Pork were the favs). The assortment of accompaniments were spectacular and all were spicy and delicious. Kim chee was very good as were all the greens. Will definitely return again for good food at a reasonable price. Pros: delicious bbq Cons: one table burner not working more

Best Lunch Deal 6/15/2005

This place offers best lunch deal around. The Lunch menu is from $6 -12. And the food is great Pros: FOOD, Value, Sushi Chef Cons: location more

go for the food, not for service 5/5/2005

Probably the best place to get good Korean food around the 'little Korea town' area in midtown, but don't count on getting spoiled by the staff. Pros: good food more

The bulgogi (marinated chargrilled BBQ beef) here is the best. No ethnic foods are ""traditional"" in that the old countryfolks were often too poor to eat delicious food. But the food here is excellant and there are just too many appetizers (in the traditional custom of Korean restaurants) to sample. The clientele is often mainly non-Korean, which is a surprising but refreshing testament that the sometimes putridly pungent but wonderfully flavorful ethnic dishes are universally enjoyed. The soups are very ""authentic"" and rich. Pros: fast like Dallas BBQ Cons: smoky BBQ enviro more

Don't pass this one up 1/15/2003

It's not located on the nicest street in Manhattan nor is it the nicest restaurant to eat in. But it is, to me, one of the best Korean BBQ spots in the city. The bulgogi was awesome, the service was fast and friendly and the food never stops coming. For the high price you would pay (dinner for the two could run $80), you sure do get alot. It's worth the money and worth a return. Pros: Great food, Friendly staff, Good value Cons: Bland atmosphere more
