I came to Wong for alterations on my wedding dress -- a pretty simple task because the dress already fit me almost perfectly. On my first visit, I mentioned that I'd always wanted to wear my mother's wedding dress but that, sadly, it didn't fit me. Wong asked about my mother's dress, and I mentioned the two, thick bands of lace that worked their way down the front of it. It was her idea, then, to incorporate the lace from my mother's dress into my veil. I hadn't bought a veil yet, wanting a mantilla-style veil that I just couldn't seem to find anywhere. But I loved Wong's idea. I broached it with my mother, who agreed, and then we went to work. Wong made the most beautiful mantilla for me, using the lace from my mother's dress to line it. It turned out absolutely stunning and very special given the fact that the veil was uniquely mine *and* that it used elements from my mother's dress. We also used some of the lace to make an adorable ring bearer's pillow.
