That was *not* Peking duck 9/13/2009

Went here w/ some friends expecting some good Peking duck. I'm not sure if we ordered wrong but our duck seemed more like a regular roast duck to me. I am willing to try it again though b/c we had the set dinner & maybe the set dinner is different? We didn't get the 2-course duck. In general, pretty decent Chinese food an the staff was pretty friendly. Prices are pretty good too. Meal for 11 of us only cost us $16 each. more

Very good Chinese Seafood restaurant in the ID 3/8/2007

Had a good meal with family here about two weeks ago. Very good experience, though we sat in the smaller room on the left, where some of the staff were eating (and talking very loudly). I wasn't expecting it to be this good but almost every dish was excellent including the long green beans in garlic sauce, the crispy skin chicken, mussels). Not a cavernous restaurant, as some of the Chinese restaurants in the ID tend to be (think China Gate or House of Hong). Cantonese cuisine, one of the few restaurants specializing in seafood in the I.D., but they have other non-seafood dishes as well. Very reasonably priced, high quality, ample portions. Maybe should get 5 stars... more

The Working Man's Chinese 7/23/2006

Forget about decor and ambiance. If great Chinese food authentically prepared and at rock bottom prices is what you're looking for, this is it. Their roast duck is one of the very best in the world, tasty, succulent and tender. Excellent wanton soup noodles for less than $4, roast duck noodles for less than $5, and the best - their dry-fried beef rice noodles!! For the aficionados of Cantonese-style dry noodles, the texture of Wing Wah's is the best - just crunchy enough, and with excellent mouth-feel, drenched in sauce. The free soup that come with the dry noodles is worth the pilgrimage. more

late night Chinese food 3/9/2006

Ho Ho's in the International District is good any time, but is also open very late at night. The hot pots are great, as are the long beans. Some of the soups are really good, such as bird's nest. I like to go during Chinese New Year as the dragons always make a stop with the firecrackers! more
