Cash Register Vets 11/3/2010

They have several vets, but the one I saw on my first visit with a rescue kitty had the personality of a cash register. Went in for a rabies vacination on a rescue kitty with a certificate from the local shelter for a free shot. Lady on the phone was a delight; they must hire her deliberately to lure in the suckers who think a vet's license denotes a caring informative attitude: this guy would sell animal pelts if there was a bounty. Stay clear: He tried to run as many tests as he could, then disappointed that they came out negative he tried to sell a deworming "prescription" on general principles. So the mercenary on the cash register tallied up $50 for a visit, then $18 for shoving a rectal swab up my pocketbook. Lose their address. I have. more

Cash Register Vets 11/3/2010

First visit and last: took in a rescue kitty with a certificate from the shelter for a free rabies shot as required by law.\r The woman on the phone was spontaneous, warm, and caring: discussed soft stool concerns, and visited largely because of her manner. Big Mistake: why she works there is beyond me. She must have been hired as the token caregiver, because the vet I got in rotation had the personality of a cash register. Every sentence had a hook on it as he trolled for potential charges. No informal discussion, no greeting for the cat herself, no treat or petting, just assembly line calculations. Had a crestfallen face when he found that his fecal test was negative; so he wanted to write a ""prescription"" for a deworming agent on general principles. I wouldn't hire him as a dog catcher; if there was a bounty on stray dogs, he'd bring back their pelts. And the broomstick at the cash register was a clone replica, dinging out the charges like a rectal swab up my pocketbook. The ""nice"" lady never mentioned a $50 visit charge for the ""free"" rabies shot. You'd think they would try to make a new customer comfortable with some degree of caring, some time spent that could have been informative. Of course, they had a room chocked with their own version of acceptable pet food. At least he didn't try to sell me styling gel for the kitten. Lose the address. I did. If the others aren't the same, I'm not returning to find out. They tolerate him, and keep the broomstick parked by the door. Judge accordingly. more

Horrible 7/7/2010

I just moved back to middle Tennessee. About 10 years ago, my dogs went here, and they did okay, now is a different story. \r \r I took my Great Dane here to get spayed a couples months ago. A couple weeks after her getting fixed I noticed she had lumps around her scar. I took her back to the vet. They told me it was "nothing" (just some serum). A couple days after that I noticed she developed a lump on her back about the same size as her stomach. Again, I went back to the vet. The doctor again told me it was "nothing." Well, the very text morning (a mere 14 hours later) when I woke up, I noticed my dogs scar and stomach were both blue and the lump on her back had grown. \r \r I got sick of being told it was nothing, so I immediately took her to Cool Springs Animal Hospital. Lilly had a severe reaction to her sutures. The lumps that they told me were "nothing" were completely filled with bacteria (that Williamson County Animal Hospital had somehow [no idea how] completely missed). She also more

They Saved our Tail...literally! 11/21/2008

Our Bassett Hound had a run-in with a door (closed on his tail) and it nearly cut the tip of his tail off (about the last 3"). Blood was spurting everywhere. It was chaos getting him to the vet with my 2 kids, one of which was in an infant seat at the time. As soon as I walked in the door, the ladies helped me out, took Elwood right back and got him immediate care. It was touch-and-go as to if we would be able to save the tip of his tail or not. The doctors did everything they could to save it. And, they did! The care and treatment was outstanding! We couldn't be happier! more

great veterinarian 5/31/2007

Doctor Lee Stockstill has been our vet for many years and has taken care of many of our animals. The main one was Shilo my doberman who was recently put down by Doctor Lee.I could not bring her in so he came to my house and took care of everything for me. He is a wonderful vet, very caring with animals and I would not go anywhere else with my animals. Highly recommended. Pros: great vets Cons: busy more

Convenient decent vet 5/30/2006

This vetinary hospital was located right next to the apartments that I lived in so it was very convenient and I was always able to get an appointment. They were good but not overly nice. The rescue group that we got our dog from used them so I liked that I did not have to find a new vet since we were already using them for our cat and now they already had our dogs history. I do wish they were more upfront on how sick our more

This place saved my "baby" 10/1/2005

I owe so much to this hospital! Several years ago, my little dog was attacked by a neighbors Akita. My dog is a Yorkie. He was touch and go for about 2 weeks. He lost a kidney, had a punctured lung and had massive anal damage. Dr. Donnie and all the wonderful staff at Williamson Animal Hospital saved my darling "fur son". He was in their care for 2 weeks. I was allowed to visit him whenever I wanted to. They let me bring him home for overnight visits because they thought it would help him. Dr. Donnie even gave me his home phone number to call if I had any questions or if anything happened while we had our dog home for the night. Our bill was quite considerable, after 2 weeks, but the clinic worked with us, as they knew, and understanded, that we were in legal processes with the owners of the dog that attacked our baby. I can never thank them enough for all that they did for our dog and for us. PROS: Everything! Expertise, compassion, etc... CONS: NONE, whatsoever! more
