I just saw this Dr. yesterday for the first time. My MD did blood work and indicated I see a specialist immediately due to double levels of insulin. He was very nice and everyone there was friendly, however, he told me I was probably hypoglycemic, or my pancreas could be just producing too much insulin, or that there could be tumors producing insulin. He asked my symptons, when I told him and explained what aleiviated them, he told me "well, some doctors to surgeries and that's not always the best thing for you and that I should just eat snacks to prevent the onset of this since that is the easiest and most pleasant way to handle it. I would think if you suspect tumors, you would want to rule that out??? He also didn't think that sugar readings in the 60's were anything to worry about. I'll wait to get the blood work results from him, but I'm scheduling with a new doctor today!!!! more

rude. 1/3/2011

This doctor is horrible. I went in numerous times and took numerous blood tests to be told I was just "over weight". This doctor is rude and has no idea what he is talking about.A few months later, I went to my general doctor and after one blood test I was told my i have hypothyroidism and that i needed to be tested for cushing's and polycystic ovarian syndrome. Basically, if you go to this office, get a second opinion. more

I would highly recommend this Doctor 12/21/2010

I'm sad to hear certain reviews for this Dr. He has been by FAR the best that I've seen. I have been to several Endocrinologists in the past and I've never met one with such good bedside manners, medical knowledge and a very reliable staff. I have been seeing Dr. Sheldon now for almost 7 years. I switched Dr.'s so much in the past due to different reasons and I have finally found one that has gotten to know me and my situation. I respect him and his staff as they always treat me like a friend and know me by name when I come in for appointments. I HIGHLY recommend this Doctor and hope that the negative comments do not detour you from his knowledge. more

Not Recommended 7/16/2009

Saw this physician regularly for years - on his schedule. One day he 'fired' me, cutting me off without medication refills, telling me that if I found another endocrinologist who could figure out "What the h*ll" was wrong with me, to let him know. Six months later I was in an intensive care hospital unit, fighting for my life, with complete adrenal failure. I displayed *all* of the visual symptoms of Addison's Disease (an endocrinological condition). He completely missed them all, and I almost died because of it. Check the Texas Medical Board website before visiting this physician. more

Get a second opinion 7/7/2009

I have had the same experience as Mark W. I have a 2 cm "hot nodule" on my thyroid that became inflamed causing my neck to swell. His diagnosis was to keep an eye on it. I'm getting a second opinion. more

Lack of pre-work, unable to trust analysis 2/8/2008

My wife is having some issues and there was a tumor / cyst found. We went to Dr. Sheldon.\r \r First visit:\r -Dr. went through normal questions; what medications are you taking, what are your symptoms, etc. \r -When asked what has already been ruled out by his diagnosis, he had no answers. He wasn't even aware that we had sent blood tests to him (and he scheduled my wife for additional blood tests, urin tests, and a targeted MRI)\r \r Second visit:\r -Dr. again asked what medications my wife is taking (First visit was two weeks ago, so it is the same)\r -Dr. read MRI results to us, which my wife recognized as the original MRI, not the most recent. When told this, he fumbled around and eventually found the current MRI. He gave a quick look at it and he said it supported his analysis\r -He also said that the blood and urin tests showed nothing abnormal.\r \r Bottom line:\r We are finding a different doctor. Dr. Sheldon might be very knowledgeable in his field, but in our case he showed a com more
