Mediocre 10/5/2008

This restaurant has awkward poor quality service. The menu is boring, no crime in that but the food is mediocre at best. The portions are very small for the price at this type of establishment. Americana done poorly...sorry but it's not that bad of an idea and has a great convenient location w/ parking. It could be done much better. Pros: Location, has parking Cons: Food, Service more

Good people, good food 9/11/2007

The Wildflower is exactly what Clintonville needs - a family owned gem, somewhat off the beaten path, with great made from scratch breakfast and daily specials. Tuesday's meatloaf is a must, and the soup du jour is always fantastic. Good salads, great burgers and sandwiches. The desserts are outstanding and always fresh - get the butterscotch pie! Pros: Friendly staff, awesome desserts Cons: parking, sometimes crowded more

Good food, a little expensive for the size, great desert. 12/20/2006

I highly recommend the desert. They make good food. It is a little expensive for the portions, but I feel the subtle tones achieved in the meals balances that out. It is rare to find a mom and pop place like this in Columbus. Refreshing change from the processed mundane cardboard from the chain restaurants, where the food won?t pass safely through the human anatomy. I liked it and I recommend it. My wife liked it, and she is very picky. Pros: nice people Cons: parking more

Average, but with one exception 11/7/2004

Wildflower cafe is a small, mediocre restaurant serving average sandwiches except on Saturday. Saturday's special is fried chicken with (boring) cole slaw, decent mashed potatoes (served for some reason with a buttery sauce), and a rather bad biscuit. The trick here is to get the chicken when it is first made, meaning you will have to wait a bit, but believe me it is worth it. If it is already done, it is alright, but if you get lucky and get it fresh, it is the best fried chicken in town! Pros: Fried chicken, decent mashed potato Cons: , Average cuisine, Chicken only on Sat. more

Roses! 3/24/2004

This is a fun, funky and wonderful place to have breakfast. The service was great, the food delivered fast and hot and good and the coffee was fantastic! What more can you want for such a small price? more

Deliciously Good! 8/7/2002

Wonderful service, great food! The coffee is exceptional! The owner is always on sight and makes you feel right at home. Pros: Affordable, Great Coffee, Creative Menu Cons: Limited Parking, Limited Seating more

Cheerful Beginnings 7/26/2002

Bright comfortable surroundings, small but efficient menu, deliciously prepared food. What else do you need for breakfast? Pros: location, service, food Cons: parking, hours, limited menu more

Mundane and Ordinary 6/4/2002

Mundane food reminded me of school cafeteria-type fare with ordinary offerings and very so-so quality. The building is really small so you can hear everyone's conversation in the restaurant. Service was slow and server never did check back with us for more beverages. Prices seemed on the high side considering the apparent controlled-size portions. Overall impression was negative, not a place I'd go back to. Cons: Too small, Bad parking, Unfriendly staff more

Gather ye Rosebuds 5/13/2002

Wildflower Cafe is indeed adorable, and its offerings, at least those I've had, have been well-prepared and cheerfully served. I just hope that their ever-so-slightly off-the-beaten-track location doesn't keep people from finding out about this gem. more

  • The Scene
It used to be difficult to find a breakfast eatery in Columbus that wasn't a greasy spoon or a corporate chain, but Wildflower Cafe has filled that gap in this city's restaurant...
