I have been using Whole Foods on Kirby to cater my business luncheons for a few months now -- and I must say the food and service has been terrific! I highly recommend!

Worst shopping experience EVER! 10/7/2011

Today I took my mother & younger sister with me to Whole Foods because I am always bragging on how wonderful it is and wanted them to get the experience as well. The last time my fiance and I went everyone was so helpful. One of the workers even opened a bag of whole wheat crackers for us so we could try them! So when walking down the isle looking for chicken broth we notice a bag of chips open on the shelf so naturally assuming this was a sample bag we decided to try. Later, after we have checked out an undercover ""off duty"" cop grabs us and embarrasses us in front of everyone saying we opened the bag and started eating from it! what, are you serious? Then I ask to speak with a manager and Troy Lively comes in and doesn't even get our side of the story and starts yelling at us as well about stealing! He wouldn't even get our side of the story and tells us to never come back. After I spent almost $100 in groceries and has the nerve to ask my sister what else is in your purse that you'd like to tell me about (the officer). Then when I called the store manager back to explain myself again he doesn't hear a word I have to say and starts YELLING AT ME on the phone! YOU JUST DON'T TREAT PEOPLE THIS WAY!! I've never been treated so poorly in my life... I will never go back and hope that no one else gets treated this way. more

Wish I Lived by One 7/18/2010

If you care about your body and love food, this is the place to go. It has fresh, organic produce, meats, and seafood. All items are free from high fructose corn syrup and fatty oils. The only bad thing was trying not to buy the whole store. I specifically enjoyed the variety they offered and the free samples. Pros: large selection, cafe, bakery, samples more

Always Worth It 2/7/2010

Whole Foods is a grocery store that I actually enjoy going to. Whether I'm stocking up on great fresh fruits or veggies, need some great vegetarian options or want to try out a new recipe, I know I'll find it at Whole Foods. The ready-made desserts and meals are also great if you're in a rush, or if you're just having a bad day and need some cake. A word of caution: If you go right after work, especially on a Friday, it's going to be busy and the parking lot will be packed. You've been warned! Pros: Great selection, excellent pre-made meals and desserts Cons: Can be busy more

HUGE FAN!! 2/28/2009

The WFM on Kirby drive really is a destination- this isn't just about grocery shopping. \r Fun, great energy, smart employees\r Take your friends and family that visit from out of town!\r Must see! Pros: Great energy- best quality in town. Cons: parking can be a challenge at peak times more

Unfortunately agree with previous review 5/10/2008

I?m a fan of Whole Foods and I?ve been shopping WF for long time ? including the original DT Austin store. And I think their quality is holding steady. But unfortunately, I have to agree with the other reviewer. \r \r There are some really nice, polite people that work there. But it seems like a majority of the customer facing employees there now feel like it?s beneath them to say ?Yes Mam? and ?Thank you Mam?. It?s just simple courtesy - I do that with my clients. It seems like a grocery store clerk could use good manners and show some respect to customers that pay premium prices. Pros: Food Quality Cons: Service Courtesy more

Rude, mean checkers. 3/14/2008

Absolutely the rudest checkers I've ever come across. In the past month, I have been: scolded by a checker for having a few too many items in the express lane (it was an honest mistake; there was no one in line behind me & I had already apologized to the checker); I have bought $120 worth of groceries from a checker who didn't say hello or thank you because she was too busy planning her evening with her friends; & today, as the final straw, the guy checking out my groceries said to the sacker ""God, why do people always choose my checkstand? Can't they see that there other checkers who aren't busy?""\r \r These Whole Foods/Kirby checkers are rude bordering on mean. Sometimes, it feels like I'm getting my groceries checked out at some brutal junior high. I think it's time for me to start shopping elsewhere. more

Begging for more 11/17/2002

I get excited walking into Whole Foods. Living almost 25 miles away, I make the trek to Whole Foods b/c I know I will get quality organic fruits, healthy snacks I'll never find anywhere else, and the best crunchy peanut butter I've ever laid lips on. I wish every grocery store was a Whole Foods. The service is great, they've got everything I could possibly ever need for snacking or entertaining. Service rocks, it's clean, creatively aesthetic, and leaves me wanting more, more more. What are the odds of Whole Foods buying out the Kroger close to me? Pros: QUALITY, Integrity, Atmosphere Cons: There's only one more

Calling all healthnuts and macrobiotics! 8/11/2002

Whole Foods rocks! Not only do they have everything you could (or couldn't) imagine in the way of natural foods and life products, they go out of their way to be genuinely helpful and kind. If you care about the earth, the future, your quality of life, your food, your health, your state of mind, or your body (and what else is there?) then you MUST give Whole Foods a try -- and become a diehard fan like me!! Pros: beautiful produce, friendly staff, bulk bins!!! Cons: some items expensive more
