Greatest Concert Venue 7/1/2008

I have been to many concerts at the Whitehorse Amphitheater in Darrington, including the ill-famed 2006 Classic Rock Festival. Regardless of what the entertainment is, the view of Whitehorse is worth the visit. It is spectacular! The homey atmosphere and friendly people of Darrington are a plus. \r If you haven't attended the yearly Bluegrass Festival, I challenge you to attend. I know, you are saying ""Bluegrass???"" But I promise you, that you will be pleasantly surprised, and entertained by at least one or two acts. The harmonies, melodies, and instrumental pickins of Bluegrass, are amazing. The ""stand out"" for me is ""The Navy Bluegrass Band"" Be sure to catch their set, they will amaze you with their polished sound. The campsite on the grounds is full of Jam circles, free to about anybody who can pick or grin! It is great to wander around, and catch a spontaneous group strummin and singin. \r If you only do one show this summer, make it the Darrington Bluegrass Festival, July 18-20th. You can ""Google"" ""Darrington Bluegrass"" for schedule of acts, and ticket pricing.\r Submitted by Terry Williams local since 1990. Pros: Lots sof vendors, from food to musical instuments. Cons: Concrete seating, bring your butt pad, or a chair for the grassy area near the stage. more
