White House Restaurant

This restaurant has good food and service but the management stinks. The manager was rude and short with me when asking if he could tell my waiter that we had a couple of birthdays at our table and when a server accidentally spilled water on phone they said he would be personally liable for it. I WILL NEVER SUPPORT A COMPANY THAT DOES NOT SUPPORT THEIR STAFF. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES! When I called to talk to the owner and relay my dissatisfaction he hung up on me. I WILL BE SURE TO TELL EVERYONE I KNOW TO NEVER EAT HERE! more

I recommend this place for good food! I ordered the chipotle lime chicken (comes with avocado, wild rice, and veggies). It was excellent! I've been craving it ever since. After dinner, we headed over to the main bar area where they have a small dance floor. That Saturday night, the dj was spinning LOTS of 80s music. I'm fine with a few songs here and there...but it consisted of 90% of the music. It was kind of lame. We danced and had a good time anyway, but I wish they would play more of today's hits. I've only been there once, so I'm not sure about the other nights. Drinks...I had one of the worst cosmopolitans in my life...wow, really bad! I played it safe afterwards and just ordered standard rail drinks. The crowd was pretty cool...nice vibe and not overly pretentious as I was expecting. I will just say it the way it is. I don't know how to write a review, but I do frequent this place, and for quite a few reasons. Look, I don't cook and I can (within reason) pretty much eat wherever I want to. These guys have a really comfortable vibe, you can order food at 9 Oclock at night if you want to. I like the waitresses there, beautiful, and intelligent too. Very respectfull to your girl if you bring one. Like I said, the vibe is killer. Compared to anywhere else from Corona Del Mar down to Dana Point (except for maybe The Ritz Carlton), I would say it is my choice anyway, and as I said, I dont cook,so I eat out all the time (or starve). Shashimi is fresher than sushi joints in Laguna and D.P. Great Steak, Ribs, Hey, if it's not on the menu, it does not mean you can't get it there either. Shots are served half up in a drink glass too. I was pleasantly shocked when I ordered a shot. Very generous bar. Good security too. Anyone bothering anyone are most efficiently purged with class. This Club Soul DJ Shawny B (I think I got it right) really gets the girls heh omg well check it out, youll see! Hey and if your so worried about a cover, get there early and eat first, heh it's like a few bucks...if that's a problem, than what are you even doing in Laguna!? Do not drink and drive in this little city, I hear they have the highest 502 arrests in the entire OC. They are snoopers too. There's no way anyone can pull it off. You shouldn't be drinking and driving anyway. They have free cabs in Laguna too just dont expect them to take you to LA or something. See? I told you I don't know how to write a review from the beginning so dont complain if you read this far, just go there and have fun! My brother and I came here for dinner and drinks. Our waitress was very friendly and my pasta was cooked well. I'd definitely come back! more

Cover charge after 9 pm is @ $7. Well worth it. Very good mix of people from middle age, upper class, to young, party goers. Attire ranges from dressy to very casual beachwear. Everyone mixes very well. The reg DJ plays great dance music. Small dance floor - normally packed. We like it that way - if you don't, not a good place for you. Does get crowded - we like that too. If you don't like crowds, again, not a good place for you. Great steaks, seafood, appetizers. Know what you want when you approach the bartender, it's not Burger King. i personally dont agree with the other review. the white house has a very unique menue with very generous portion sizes for the price they are charging. yes they do charge a cover at the door, but it is completely worth it once you walk into the bar, it has a great night life with lots of fun high energy people. the staff is all outstanding and helpful. in the early evening it is a nice family restaurant with a beautiful location. when it gets a little bit later it is good for a nice romantic date or it is fun to go out with a group of friends and get something to eat before you enter the bar for a fun night. i highly recommend this restaurant/bar to any one of any age. i promise you it is worth your time to give it a try.
