Vegetarian gravy 11/30/2005

I came here out of chance. I was needing to buy some Vegetarian Gravy for a guest that was coming over for Thanksgiving & Central Market was just way too crowded. So, I ventured in here. I had no problem parking, which I was immediately grateful for! People were outside on the patio enjoying a rather divine looking lunch. Inside, the staff was EXTREMELY nice and helpful. After finding the gravy (which was super cheap at only .99, and I know I would have paid a few dollars at Central Market), I looked at their produce selection, and it was just awesome! I will definitely shop here more often! more

A Co-op Grocery Market 8/21/2005

This is the first co-op grocery market, I had ever heard of. This is a member-owned grocery store, but know that you do not have to be member in order to shop here. It is just less expensive for the members and there are some added benefits to becoming a member. They have a wonderful array of both local and imported organic and nonorganic products which is fantastic. They also have a great deli and some unique gift items. The prices are good and their philosophy is one that is all about community and should be supported. more

Food store 8/18/2005

Wheatsville food coop is very close to campus, you can buy the daily food in this store. It opens late, close at 11pm daily. They have organic food, but a little pricey, I prefer buying organic food in wholefood or central market. This is a small store compared to other two. But if you don't want to drive, it is a fine place to find organic food. more

Austin Store and Ideas 8/16/2005

Since I lived in West Campus, I would frequent the Wheastville on occasion. The idea behind the co-op is great. You can buy a membership (or not) and still shop there. The membership acts as an investment in the co-op in that you can share in their profits. You can also work at the store to recieve a 10% discount. The food that the DO carry is priced more expensive than HEB; however, the quality of food rivals Whole Foods and Central Market. Check this place out for organic foods and unique items more
