Wet Pets N Critters

NEVER get an animal at Wet Pets & Critters!!! We got a female guinea pig for my daughter at Christmas and had to wait a month for another female for my son (we wanted no babies and to keep both in the same cage to become best friends)......this was to help my kids to learn & play together as they are 8 years apart. The employees (teenagers) did not tell me anything about how to care for guinea pigs when I purchased them, NEITHER TIME; and now we have babies cause we actually ended up with a male. I called the store and the manager told me we have to remove the male from the cage and keep the babies for at least 4 weeks to nurse. That's ALL the advice she gave me. Oh and that sometimes it's hard to tell a female from a male ... REALLY?!?! Aren't you supposed to know more than that if you are selling animals? The only reason I went to Wet Pets was because PETCO didn't have females. I Googled guinea pig babies and found more information on the search page than what they told me, plus contradictions of what the manager told me! Needless to say, I will take the advice from Google! The manager called back and said the owner offered to keep the mom and the babies for the four weeks; then they will keep the babies and our male while we wait on another female. THAT'S IT? First, you would be the LAST place I leave these babies at...just so you can make money off them and not care for the animals...YOU'RE CRAZY LADY!!! Second, we are already attached to the male and I am not about to take my son's pet away because of your mistake...all I wanted from you was a cage so I could separate the male. Why is that so much to ask for? You want to make money off me but aren't willing to offer a suitable cage due to your employees ignorance? It's the pure principle of the matter. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO YOUR STORE!! I should of just waited for PETCO! Not to mention, the store stinks and it was dirty both times I went in. They should close this down for the sake of all the animals!! more

This pet store is amazing! We recently moved to Longview from the Dallas metroplex area and we have been in A LOT of pet stores over the years. Wet Pets N Critters is not only one of the best stores we've been to, but they have a very knowledgable staff. Before we went there, one of our neighbors said there was a better selection of supplies at other big box pet store chains. Maybe so, but as a buyer of pet related items (feline, canine, reptile, amphibian, fish & rodent) over the last 30 years, I can say with 100% certainty they stock the best brands in each product. You don't have to wonder if a certain food brand is better than 30 others, which cat litter works best or which aquarium light is safest. Someone, I'm guessing the owner, has created a store that exclusively stocks and carries the best products of every category. Besides having a great assortment of pets and fish for sale, (who all were in clean cages and tanks when we were there) a very knowledgable staff who all seem to really love working there and enjoy the animals, they also stock the top products for prices comparable to online sources. This is how more pet stores should be run, by tailoring everything to what is BEST for pets and pet owners, not just filling up space with endless products in an effort to sell more and increase profits. more

I took my children there today and the employees were so sweet. I ended up leaving with two betta fish kits. I was impressed that they made sure I knew exactly what to do with my fish when I got home. We also looked at their birthday party room and my oldest daughter(8) wants to have her party there. more

i have bought many animals from wet pet n critters and all of them had a disease from the start some ones needs to stop that. i wonder when does the owner or manager are available to b their to talk to. they to scared to own up to their costumers demans on their sick animals. Pros: nothing Cons: the employees suck, owner needs to get punched n da face more

I love this store! even though the prices may be high the quality of the items is amazing! Their enployees are right there to help! If you need anything for your loving animal you can always find it at Wet Pets N critters Pros: Good Quality Cons: High Prices more
