I use to try to enjoy this place but my latest shopping visits their felt like they were following black people around, seeing what they like and then raising prices. Not that prices aren`t already high enough. more

I like this Mpls small coop. Very interesting in various ways. I have known it since the mid-1980's when I first started practicing as a naturopath homeopath acupuncturist in town. more

While I do respect that The Wedge has a fabulous selection and is well-known for supporting local farmers, I have honestly never have had a more uncomfortable shopping experience (and yes, I have been here numerous times) in my entire life. Not only are the prices ridiculously inflated (for example, the same bottle of tea tree oil costs $6 at Trader Joes while it costs $10 at The Wedge), the employees sulk around as if you are being done a favor by shopping there. I stopped at the cosmetics desk to inquire as to where I could find citric acid and was ignored for 5 minutes while the two girls behind the desk gabbed. When I approached the checkout and smiled at the cashier I was greeted with a scowl and a person who seemed unable to maintain eye contact. After I was done being rung up (a $60 bill for 1/2 a bag of food) I struggled to bag all of my food whilst holding a small baby as the checkout girl stood there and stared off into the distance. The Wedge is the best co-op in the Twin Cities. Everyone that works there is so informed and helpful. Their deli, bakery, and smoothie/juice bar are great. Their fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice and mangolita smoothie are my favorites. Pros: Supports local farms and businesses, fresh produce, informed employees more

The Wedge Co-op has long been a destination for people in the Twin Cities shopping for natural and organic foods and products in a friendly environment. That friendly environment was due, in part, to the friendly and ethical manner in which Wedge management treated its employees. Lately, however, something seems to have gone amiss. Wedge management has started treating its employees as if they are the enemy and a number of longtime cashiers were fired for very flimsy reasons. If you believe that employees should be treated fairly, then you may want to reconsider shopping at the Wedge. -A concerned member and customer.
