I went for dinner, and I went for the BBQ sampler -- sausage, BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, and ribs. Boy was that a lot of food for only $11.95! The ribs were a little chewy and fatty...

Chicago Steak at Its Best 3/11/2004

I was seated at the grill bar to eat... it is a good thing that the food was outstanding, because the heat from the open grills was like standing in the desert under a mid-day sun! Just awful 2/19/2004

I ordered Salmon medium rare. After they served it to me dried out, they informed me that they can't do salmon medium rare. I tried to order a cheeseburger, but they couldn't get that right either. For a place named after a BBQ grill, they should learn how to grill food! I'd rather eat at McDonald's than this place! more

Good Food and Service 1/13/2004

Finally decided to try Weber Grill after seeing it on-line and walking by many times while in Chicago on business. Ate at the bar and dined on a tremenous filet, good garlic mash potatoes and very good service from the two bartenders. Many games on the tv's and the crowd was fun. I will definitely be back to Weber Grill on my return to Chicago. more

good food, bad management 9/29/2003

I went for dinner, and I went for the BBQ sampler -- sausage, BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, and ribs. Boy was that a lot of food for only $11.95! The ribs were a little chewy and fatty, the sausage was bland, the chicken was just OK, but the pork was really quite good. Of course, I was surprised to see $17.95 for my meal on the bill. Both my wife and I saw $11.95 on our menus. The manager came over and told us we were wrong and refused to acknowledge the possibility that we were given lunch menus which might have a price of $11.95. Lo and behold, their lunch menu is posted outside the restaurant, and the price at lunch is $11.95. I didn't care so much about $6, I cared about being treated with respect and grace, versus being treated like a liar or a criminal. Pros: good BBQ pork Cons: unkind manager more

WONDERFUL! 9/2/2003

Don't believe the terrible reviews on here.... they are obviously from the whiny types that probably NEVER have a good thing to say. WEBER GRILL IS comfort food at its finest. My entire family loved each and ever bite. From the burgers to the steaks, the meatloaf to the cheesecake.... it was all good to the last bite! I WILL go back. more

I have four words that describe the Weber Grill, bad service/bad food. Our waiter ignored us and the food was less impressive than a trip to Ponderossa. this has got to be one of the most overrated steak houses I've eaten at. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: service, food quality more

I've been to Weber Grill three times now. Each time, my steak was done perfectly. The pita bread and spread they give at the beginning are delicious. I've also tried there burger which is delicious if you can finish it. It is one of the less expensive steak houses in Chicago. I recommende it. Pros: inexpensive, good parking more

Weber... Stick to the grills! 8/11/2003

My wife and I ate there a while back expecting real good things. Service on this day was OK, nothing spectacular. But we were stunned that such a name as Weber could offer up such atrocious steaks as we had. It was like eating the bottom of a tennis shoe almost, just tough and kind of dry, and I can get that myself at many an outdoor BBQ without having to pay the high price. We love our Weber Genesis but will not be back to the restaurant. Better food elsewhere for sure. Pros: Weber name, I was hungry Cons: Tough and dry, not cheap, way over rated! more

Weber Grill offers nothing more than I can cook up on my grill at home and charges ridiculous prices for it. They jam you into an uncomfortably tight situation and their service shows because of it. Cocktails are expensive and on the ""small"" size. Buy a good barbeque cook book, some quality steaks, a six pack and enjoy the same at home. I don't see it 5/15/2003

I have visited quite a few steakhouses around the area and I see no reason to go back here again. Some things may vary depending on the day you go. We had a bad server and were seated in a VERY cold part of the restraunt. However the steaks just weren't up to par. Maybe the burgers are great but I can tell you I have gotten much better steak down the road at Gibsons or Wildfire. Pros: Decent sized menu, good location Cons: food, service (for my trip) more

Long wait on a Saturday 2/21/2003

Without reservations on a Saturday evening, there was a 1.5 hour wait. It was the week before Valentine's day, so I thought it might have been exceptionally long, but the man seating us said a 2 hour or more wait is more typical. Even the bar was three people deep to get a drink before dinner. We went across the lobby of the adjoining hotel to get drinks there! The steaks were worth the wait, though! My only real complaint was that since our waitress was personally acquainted with a couple at the table beside us, the rest of her tables were a bit under-served while they caught up on old times. We were seated right away and then ignored. After waiting for a long time, we called over to the hostess and informed her that we had not received menus, water, drink offer or anything. The Weber Grill is a nice place to go if you're in the mood for a grilled steak and don't feel like dragging out the grill at home. The steak was very good and grilled to perfection. The sides were tasty but the grilled asparagus tasted a little too grilled for my liking. I couldn't help but think that I could have done the grilling at home for a fraction of the price. I would have expected much more from a name synonymous with grilling. I wont take away from the friendly service and helfpul staff; but the steaks were dry and the food overall lacked in flavor.
