Excellent food and reasonably priced. The last time I ate at Weathervane (more than 10 years ago,) I was so disappointed, I swore that I would never return. A friend told me that t...

Having eaten at the Weathervane several years ago, I decided that it would be a nice place in-between Raleigh and Graham for my party to meet for dinner Saturday night. I strategi...

Bad Decision! 9/26/2003

Just called the ""new"" Weathervane to make a dinner reservation and was greeted with the announcement they will no longer accept reservations unless you're a party of 6 or more! Bad decision on A Southern Season's part, and based on this, they've lost a long time customer forever. Cons: No reservations! more

Will NEVER go back. 5/13/2003

We made reservations for Mother's Day Brunch at The Weathervane -- I called 3 weeks in advance, upon which I was given about 8 rules and regulations for eating there (no splitting ticket, can't be late, etc.) -- which was somewhat understandable, given the busy occasion. While there, waited over an hour, after ordering, to be served brunch. And over 20 minutes for our drinks! The manager was rude -- when I spoke to him (calmly) about the situation. He did nothing to ease my tension. Will NEVER go back. more

little piece of europe 8/24/2002

no, not the food or the people, but the ambiance outside...with white lights, an arboretum touch, canvas umbrellas over the tables. it has a very euro-feel to it. delicious food, but a little pricey. another one not on this list is vine rouge - GREAT atmosphere out back, cramped inside. more

Reliable 8/20/2002

I've been eating at The Weathervane for as long as I've lived in Chapel Hill. The menu is well chosen & changes both seasonally and regularly enough to give you something to look forward to, but not so much that you never know what you're going to find. Like every other restaurant, I've had some bad service times, but for the most part it's great. Everyone there is always nice to me and the patio is SPECTACULAR! I love the Weathervane and can't wait to see their new restaurant next year. Pros: Southern Season, Patio Cons: Parking, Weather more

WONDERFUL PATIO DINING 8/15/2002

Have been to the Weathervane numerous times and have always eaten on the patio..have taken out of town guests here and they have been impressed not only with the relaxing patio but also with the quality of the food..one thing to remember..there is an abbreviated menu after like 3pm or so..that was disappointing to our group but, it was still great food! Pros: GREAT patio, good selections Cons: parking is a problem more

Outstanding! 8/3/2002

Hands down, the best brunch in Chapel Hill. The food is always perfect and the service is always prompt and courteous. Prices are lower than I expected for such an upscale experience. more

Relaxing Patio Getaway 5/19/2002

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the triangle. Its patio is a fantastic place to go on a lovely warm day, especially in the spring or fall. It's roomy, and surrounded by beautiful vegetation--a great escape from the city and road noise. Food is superb. It's a plus and minus--the menu changes frequently. I had the freshest, flavorful salad I've ever had--but it wasn't there for me on my next visit. Although the salmon entree I decided on was equally impressive. more
