perfecto vegetarian cafe/restaurant 4/27/2006

great vegetarian restaurant with many options. great sides and salads, and a full breakfast menu. hours are good, though i would have loved it if they were open monday too. but so it goes with indie restaurants- the staff needs a break too. friendly, smiling service and great food for a low price. coffee's ok, but the desserts and breakfasts look amazing. as i did this time, i will b-line for this joint every time i ever come to denver. Pros: variety, breads are great, cheap Cons: coffee is ehhh... more

Best breakfast in Denver 3/3/2005

WaterCourse is my favorite breakfast place ever. The frenchtoast, probably the least healthiest thing on the menu, is absolutely perfect. My boyfriend often orders the tempeh chorizo, and for a meat eater loves it. The coffee is good too, and filled up frequently. Pros: great food, low prices more

Excellent! 9/19/2004

I stopped by Watercourse for lunch when I was in town and loved the food so much I've vowed to make it a regular stop when I'm in Denver. I cozied up to the bar and had excellent service. The iced tea is spectacular. I had the Dona Lee, subbing miso tahini sauce for the ranch, and ordered an apple-cinnamon-nutmeg couscous and special-of-the-day fruit salad instead of fries. They had no problem subbing my dressing or side dishes. The entire meal was not only delicious but totally original. The place is as unpretentious as it comes but still stylish and friendly. Veggies, vegans and meat-eaters will all enjoy this fantastic food. Pros: Delicious, Healthy, Fresh more

Absolutely Great! 1/21/2004

I have eaten at the Watercourse several times with both vegans and meateaters and everyone loved it! The food is so yummy! The atmosphere is great. Low key, relaxed, kinda funky. Great Location and the price is awesome! There are so few true vegetarian places in Denver and this place is like Denvers best kept vegetarian secret! I would recommend this place to anyone - ENJOY!!!! Pros: Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Great Price Cons: not romantic - sorry! more

First let me say that if you haven't tried dinner you are truly missing out.... The Barbecue Tofu... tempeh Bolognaise... Man check them out at night.. It truly is the bomb.. and have a little wine.. Peace... Pros: Inexpensive, Excellent wait staff, The Specials Cons: Parking not so hott.., fills up fast, more vegan desserts more

scrumptious! 1/3/2003

I had the pleasure of eating there yesterday and it was a delight! Great Food, wonderful sevice and artsy kind of atmposphere. The Vegetarian menu is large and I think there is something for every kind of vegetarian! Try the veggie hash...it is so yummy! I would say it is one of the 3 best vegetarian resturants in Colorado (the other 2 being the Harvest and the Rainbow) I am going to dream of going back there to try every other thing on the menu. Also, they have some good food for kids! Pros: great food, exceptional service, worth eating there Cons: parking could be hard more

Variety of good food! 11/8/2002

We went to WaterCourse for one of our monthly DinnerGrrls meetings and had a great time. Though the restaurant doesn't really take reservations, I had called ahead, and they were setting up the table for our group when I got there. Though the waitstaff kept pretty busy, they did a pretty good job. The food was great! I had the macro plate, and was thoroughly impressed. Everything seemed really fresh and filling. Raves came from other members for pasta, polenta encrusted tempeh, which actually tasted a lot like meat, and the jerk tofu. Even the chocolate almond cake and an orange cake were satisfying but not desserts to leave one feeling weighted down at the end of dinner. The hibiscus iced tea is beyond words, too! Pros: fresh food, fair price Cons: busy waitstaff more

I have hit the jackpot 10/6/2002

I usually like vegetarian resturants anyway, but when we sat down for breakfast and they had biscuits and gravy, I was sold. The smoked portobella was above all others smoked and non-smoked. They were out of biscuits on our visit but he waitress brought me the gravy to try. At first I was hesitant because it was not the normal white color, but once I dipped my toast, I was sold. There were so many things on the menu that I want to try, it will keep me coming back for months. A bonus, the prices are not going break your pocket book. Pros: Excellent, Can be made Vegan, Different recipes more

Great for first timer 9/6/2002

First time visiting, recommended by freind love the place! Great food, quick service, great people... Pros: Great Price, Great variety, Very Freindly Cons: Parking at Lunch Hour more

Where's the Bacon??? 8/16/2002

As a skilled meat eater I was brought to the watercourse unaware of their veggan menu. Well I have to say the stuff was pretty good, for vegi fare. I was amazed by the mystery gravy on my breakfast burrito. One suggestion get some meat in that place. I understand that eating veggan is trendy, but bacon is the cornerstone of the american breakfast. If god wanted us to graze pastures he would have put us on all fours. more

Try the BBQ tempeh burger! 7/25/2002

On my first visit, I tried the macro plate (grilled tofu with teriyaki sauce and steamed veggies on the side). The description on the menu made me order it... and I can tell you that the plate lived up to the description. YUM! For dessert, banana walnut muffin. Tasty! On my second visit, I tried the BBQ tempeh burger with a side of blue chips and a changing veggie side (art heart salad was my side). Labeled as ""the best damn burger"" on the menu, it really lived up to this. YUM! YUM! For dessert, chocolate chocolate cookie to go. It was ok, not chewy enough for me. The chips melted on the way home from the Denver heat. That part was good. Pros: veg*n friendly Cons: do not accept AMEX more

My favorite restaurant 7/23/2002

Unlike similar big cities, Watercourse is the only vegetarian restaurant in Denver. Other are only pretenders. Great food, vegan options and the food won't scare your non-vegetarian dining companions. I love it. Pros: great food, know the term vegan, eclectic Cons: capital hill more

Yum Yum for non-dairy eaters! 6/12/2002

Dan Landis and crew have done wonders to the diets of non-dairy eaters/vegans. The tempeh and scrambled tofu are divine! They offer soy butter and soy milk to compliment various entrees. Yeah! Even my meat-eating friends devour brunch and lunch at Watercourse (haven't tried dinner yet) - it's not too difficult to pursuade your non-veggie friends from following you to this restaurant. Pros: Vegetarian Only, Affordable more
