I really want to like the food, but It was okay. The salmon & unagi nigiri were nice though. The delivery however it took almost 2 hours. I don't think i'll order again.

Great neighborhood joint 8/18/2002

W&G is a great neighborhood sushi place, and as I live in the neighborhood I consider myself lucky. The fish is always fresh and their house-invented rolls are great. The Super Dynamite roll in particular is amazing...Japanese crack, as it were. more

EXCELLENT FIND 8/9/2002

By looking at the outside of the place you would not really know they had good sushi. But excellent original rolls like romeo and juliet are to die for. Service a bit slow but tolerable... more

Food is great; servers are rude. 8/5/2002

I was so excited to be able to walk down the hill to find great Sushi and literally went there 3 times in one week. the fish is fresh, the rolls are innovative and deliciously presented but the service and the attitude of the staff is a liability. I am sad to say that I probably will not go back unless they hire a brand new group of servers. Pros: moderate pricing, good food Cons: service, service, service more

Best sushi in SF... 7/6/2002

I probably have sushi 3-4 times a month and Wasabi & Ginger has consistently been the best sushi I've eatten in quite ahwile. Incredibly fresh fish, excellent job with all the standard items, always a few interesting specials. and a couple of real gems (white tuna tataki, martini roll). The room is your standard sushi bar. Nothing fancy. Service can be a little off when they get very busy, but they are always friendly even when the place is packed.
