Nice place to walk around with NO kids 12/25/2010

Great place to take a leisurely stroll with your boyfriend or husband and enjoy the food and many many many alcoholic beverages being served on every corner. Not sure what there is for kids to do though seems like walking 3+ miles would just make them fall asleep. more

Rip Off 5/26/2009

My husband and I drove all the way from Miami while we were on vacation there to Orlando to go to DisneyWorld. What a huge mistake and dissappointment! It was a disaster. \r \r We chose to go to Epcot as we thought it would be futuristic, space-agy, and just fun. We paid around $150 for two of us just to go to the Epcot; the tickets are not transferrable to Magic Kingdom or any other pavillions.\r \r The rides were a JOKE. By the way, there are only 3 rides. We may have enjoyed them if we were 5 years old...\r \r We ate at the Chinese themed restaurant, where the food was more like a fast food meal with the prices of an upscale diner. \r \r It started to rain really hard and we had to buy celophane panchos that were $15 a piece. What a rip off, again... We threw them away at the end of the trip because they were cheaply made and would be of no good use. \r \r The Test Drive, supposedly the best ride at the Epcot, got closed down because of the rain and a possibility of being struck by lightning. Even after the rain stopped, we waited for a bit, but it still remained closed. \r \r IT WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. Pros: customer service Cons: Expensive; horrible rides; bad food; little to see more

A quick hint... 6/26/2005

Attempting to adequately summarize a theme park in 150 words or less is hard, but a few hints for those visiting... First, check out the new soaring ride when the park opens to avoid the long lines and then get a fast pass for a return flight an hour and a half later. In the meantime, take a behind the scenes tour of The Land that starts hourly at 9:30 AM. It costs $20 for adults and $10 for children (there is an AAA discount...) but you get an hour-long tour with your personal guide of the facilities and the research they do with pests and plants. You see much more than The Land ride and learn a few things. It was our highlight of our day at Epcot and a relaxing experience! more

Epcot IS The Best Place To Visit 11/2/2002

Epcot IS my all time favorite attraction. It has something for everyone. If you like rides, exhibits, a taste of Europe/Asia, live entertainment and good food you have come to the right place. This is a 'must see' when you come to Orlando. One word of advice- take 2 days to enjoy the park. There is so much to see and if you rush through the park you will miss a great deal. A perfect end to your day is the Illumination show. It is fabulous!!! Pros: exhibits, entertainment, restaurant Cons: expensive admission, charge for parking, places to sit more

Relaxing Fun 8/28/2002

Epcot is the most relaxing and beautiful park of the Disney parks. More interesting for adults than children, the park offers a plethora of sights and activities. Epcot also has the best fireworks of any park in Orlando (Illuminations). Pros: Beautiful, Uncrowded, Good Food Cons: Expensive, A little dated more

UNIQUE 8/12/2002

ITS DIFFERENT THEN ANYTHING OUT THERE AND NEXT TO bUSCH GARDENS va THE BUSY LOOKING PARK AROUND. BUT LIKE ALL DISNEY NEEDS A GOOD FACELIFTING - BECOMING A LITTLE WORN. DISNEY NEEDS TO START SPENDING AND NOT BEING SO FRUGAL. IF THEY KEEP IT UP THEY WILL SOMEDAY BECOME THE K-MART OF ENTERTAINMENT PARKS Pros: LAYOUT, UNIQUE, LANDSCAPING Cons: DATED, SAME OLD ATTRATIONS more

My favorite theme park!! 8/8/2002

I am an Orlando native and have been to every theme park many times, and EPCOT is still at the top of my list. You need two full days to really enjoy everything this park has to offer. EPCOT is a wonderful blend of culture, science, delectable cuisine, and fun. You will think you've stepped into other countries as you go from Mexico to Morroco in World Showcase. And each country has restaurants featuring its nation's cuisine. These restaurants only employ people from that country, to ensure authenticity, and the food in these restaurants is second to none. Sample some bratwurst in Germany, sushi in Japan, and have a Napoleon in the French pastry shop. In Future World, there are fun and educational things to do, as you learn about nature, the body, the ocean, dinosaurs, on interactive rides and shows. more

Unique Attractions 7/17/2002

I have to say Epcot was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. The park seems to be aimed more at older children and adults than the Magic Kingdom. I really enjoyed the cultural microcosms in the ""Around the World"", for the most part they were staffed by people from the actual country which was a nice touch. It was also cool to sample beers from Italy, Morocco, and England in a half hour and a half mile. The rides weren't really all that great. The Test Drive ride had potential but it broke down several times while we were in line and during the ride. If I had kids I would definitely bring them here because the park manages to be both educational and fun. Pros: Educational more

Around the world in one afternoon 5/20/2002

While some of the cultural attractions can border on downright stupid, Disney is basically celebrating the differences that make every culture unique. The park also makes attempts at highlighting what distinguishes one country and culture from another, especially those that are ethnically linked. Go on an empty stomach and sample various dishes from Germany, France, Japan, America, etc. . . the food and drinks are definitely the best part. more

  • In Short
Located at Disney's newest park in Harambe's Village Center, the Tusker House is the perfect place to grab a bite for those just coming out of the Kilimanjaro Safari Adventure. Feast on something other than burgers and fries for a change and try a trukey wrap or the nicely-seasoned rotisserie chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. For the kiddies there are drumsticks and good ol' mac 'n' cheese. And don't forget to grab a slice of the cheesecake before you're off to the nearby Pangani Forest Explration trail.
