The best beds, fun place 3/23/2009

W has the best beds ever. The staff is pretty good, lots of great places to eat in the hotel and close to lots of good nightlife. Gets really pricy and some other hotels are opening up that are just as good if not better, but still a great option. Pros: Great nightlife and places to eat Cons: Little to pricy more

Terrible All Around!!!!! 1/6/2008

If you are reading this and are coming to Dallas just to get drunk and have poor customer service, this is the place to come. We can start off with how poor the clientel is. There were alot of people staying at The W for the Baylor vs. Arkansas basketball game at the AAC and when we came back it was like walking into a club with no security and a girl standing in the lobby tatooed up had the audacity to ask me in front of my parents if I am looking "for a friend tonight." This is not a joke there were two or three call girls in the lobby. Pros: Close to American Airlines Center Cons: Everything other than the one pro more

The best W yet 9/4/2007

I read a bunch of reviews about the hotel being snobby and stuck up before I stayed at the W this past weekend. I almost even changed hotels, but I'm so glad I didn't. I've stayed at W's in New York, Atlanta, San Diego, but this one is by far my favorite. The pool on the 16th floor overlooking Dallas is incredible. I was at the pool drinking some of their wonderful mojitos about to smoke my cigar that I brought with me, but I didn't have a lighter or cigar cutter. I called Whenever/Whatever and within 30mins they had someone bring both the lighter and cutter up to me while I was at the pool. Also, the living room (bar) down stairs was also wonderful. I made reservations to go to the Ghostbar online, but didn't end up making it up there. There was a line at the elevator just to get up to the bar. Overall, everything was wonderful and I highly recommend this hotel. Pros: Pool, drinks, ambience, location, view... pretty much everything Cons: you can only valet park b/c parking is ridiculous down there, but it was only $24 so that's not even bad more

Rude customer service!!! 1/23/2007

Do not waste your money trying to experience quality customer service, cleanliness, or professionalism. This is not the place to go. I have been in numerous high end hotels and sad to say this service is sub par. This place is highly overated and highly overpriced. I must say the only good thing about the hotel is the location. If you are willing to pay high dollar for a view with rude service to insult your intelligence then by all means this place is for you. Be ready to fork out at least $50.00 for one good meal. They have a bunch of kids running the Ghost bar on the 33rd floor who have absolutely no class and no respect for the wealthy or the commoner. Please, try the nice other hotels/bars downtown and save yourself time, money and stress. Be ready to listen to a bunch of kids party all night. I would NOT recommend this for anyone traveling on business. Bad idea gentlemen. Pros: Downtown location only. Cons: Poor customer service, over priced, inexperienced staff, rude staff, did I say OVERPRICED? more

JUST SAY NO! 10/19/2006

We were given a wedding gift of a night at the W. We would probably enjoyed a new blender more. We asked for a smoking room, which we received with NO ash trays. Made three requests for ash trays to no avail. The corridors were littered with trash from take out that another guest had ordered. The foyer to the elevators was trashed out with beer cans, empty wine bottles and burned matches all over the floor. Recommend monitoring your room expenses, if possible (this service via TV was not working for us), we were double billed for a movie rental (like $12, isn't enough). I have addressed all these items with hotel management and again no response. JUST SAY NO!!!! more

The Pretenda 9/29/2006

I'm from Dallas. Lived in NYC for a long time where W's (and their bars) are plentiful. This was so, so sad. I really wanted to like it (for Dallas' sake), unfortunately it is an expensive bore. Even worse, they attempt to enforce dress codes "here and there." Shorts for girls, not for boys, etc. Guys and gals should consult their website on what they can and can't wear. more

Very crowed, service not good 7/22/2006

We have stayed at W hotels before but the new W in Dallas is a mess. We arrived at 3:00 on Saturday to check in and were told that our room was not ready. We had requested early check in and were very surprised that the rooms weren't clean yet. We were told to go and relax by the pool while we waited. We arrived at the pool to find, no available chairs or places to sit. The pool area is way too small! At 5:30, we were allowed to check into our room and we had to wait another 20 minutes for our luggage. We had a party to go to at 6:30!!!!! Pros: Good location Cons: over crowded, poor service more
