First of all, they charge for conditioner which is pretty lame but would have been okay had I been told about it at least. The guy washing my hair simply asked, ""Which conditioner would you like - light, moisture, or deep?"" No mention of pricing whatsoever. I asked him what the difference between them was and he explained it (still never mentioning price). I picked the moisturizing one, which ended up being a surprising extra $5 when I paid at the end.
Oh, but that's the least of it. My stylist, Julian, was in an awfully pissy mood the whole time he was cutting my hair. I tried to be nice, and in all honestly, he wasn't actually rude to me personally at all... but it was just very obvious that he wasn't in a good mood for some reason, which was rather off-putting. I had brought a picture of how I wanted my hair to be, and he did a very good job delivering exactly what I wanted. So in that sense, I was pleased.
However, the most ridiculous part of this experience was when I went to pay at the front (Julian was a level 4 stylist I think, and my haircut was supposed to be $52), the girl said it would be $71 total. I asked why the extra charges, and that's when she explained about the $5 conditioner and ALSO... apparently Julian told her to charge me an extra $14 because ""I have long hair."" WHAT??? How absurd. Yes, my hair is kind of on the longer side, but it is thin and straight and very easy to manage. Also, I've been to Visible Changes in the past, with the same length hair, and have never been charged extra. The haircut and blow dry took maybe 30 minutes MAX (pretty normal amount of time), so it wasn't like it took sooo long because of my long hair. Ridiculous.
Overall, the haircut itself was good, but the extra unanticipated charges definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I would NOT recommend Julian based on that fact alone. Oh and let me add that I STILL tipped him $10 and was very nice and thankful even after I paid. I hope karma ends up kicking his pissy sour-attitude butt.
