The medical staff in Virginia Beach jail are not doing their job. The Sheriff has been made aware of this and does nothing to correct it. It is easy to see why there are some deaths there. The inmates sign for there medicine but most of the time they don't receive it but yet they pay for it through the canteen funds When you call the nursing supervisor Ms Holcomb and state the problem to her she does a fine job of correcting the problem. Once the floor nurses find out about the compaint they refuse to give inmates sick slips. My grandson broke one of his teeth in three places last Friday August 3 2007. He has continually ask the nurse for a sick slip because he is in so much pain but she refuses to give him one saying she doesn't have one with her yet she goes to another area of the wing and gives certain people sick slips. You would think that a nurse would understand their pain. When inmates die while under the care and custody of the Sheriff like in Chesapeake jail last week it was due to the medical staff ot giving him his medicine. Just about every inmate death that is usually the case not getting their medicine. Some time when a inmate decides to hang himself it is probably due to not getting his medicine for a mental disorder
