Please don't make the mistake in coming here! I went here for far too long, even though I suspected it was overpriced. But because the work that I needed done was relatively simple, I didn't mind too much (example--$14 for a dropped hem). But when I had to get some actual alterations, I couldn't believe the prices! Furthermore I had to bring back the clothing repeatedly to make sure that they got it right. Finally, the people working are rude and unhelpful and treat the problems with their work as *your* problem that you need to fix. Stay away! Pros: convenient location, near U-Village Cons: Overpriced, terrible work, rude service more

Complete waste of money 3/28/2007

I brought in a leather jacket to get cleaned. They overcharged me for the service, but at the time I didn't care as long as they got the job done right. The problem is they didn't do it right. The jacket smelled when they gave it back to me and the smell only got worse. I couldn't wear it, because it smelled so badly and had to take it to another cleaner. I'm not sure that they sent it in for cleaning. It's as if they waited a couple of weeks to hand it back to me and then just took my money. Pros: Convenient location (to get ripped off) Cons: Service is worthless more

Terrible Experience... 10/28/2006

I had one of the most upsetting customer service experiences at Village Cleaners. I had been there a few times and although the work was mediocre and the prices on the high side, I kept going due to the proximity to my home. Never again. On my last visit to pick up some pants I'd asked to have hemmed, the woman working there processed my entire transaction without speaking a word to me but rather, glaring at me and literally slamming things around as she "helped" me- She slammed the button to make the clothing carousel go around, she slammed my order on the counter, she aggressively grabbed my credit card from my hand and slammed the receipt on the counter to sign. I was perfectly polite and respectful to this woman and couldn't for the life of me understand her behavior. At last I asked, "Are you having a bad day?" to which she actually threw my receipt copy at me! As she stormed to the back of the store I said, "Well that's the last time I come here!" She then came running at me from the back of the store shouting at me to "Get out! Get out!" I was shocked, baffled, upset and shaken. I definitely advise avoiding a business where the staff seem to be on the verge of a psychotic break. Especially when the prices are high and the product not so fabulous. Pros: Location (if you live near the U District) Cons: Service, quality, prices more

Not the greatest. 6/10/2006

This drycleaner is substandard - in both service and quality. In a city this size with as many drycleaners, how can businesses like this survive? I've given them 3 chances too many. I hope you won't make the same mistake. Pros: no Cons: substandard service and quality more

Worst Drycleaner Ever - DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE 5/31/2006

My experience at Village Cleaners was the worst I have ever encountered at a drycleaners. I brought a pair of jeans in for a minor alteration. When I picked up the jeans, I discovered to my horror, that the front of the right pant leg had been sewn to the back of the right pant leg at the thigh level. The erroneous stiching made it impossible for me to get my hand through the leg, let alone my leg. These jeans were not inexpensive ($185.00) and were nearly ruined. I did not receive an apology, I was not offered any discount, and I was told the jeans could not be mailed or delivered, despite the fact that I do not live in the University District. I will NEVER use this drycleaner again and strongly caution those who are considering using them for any service. Cons: Nonresponsive, Poor Work Product, Poor Customer Service more

value and satisfaction for dress alterations 2/14/2006

They altered my wedding dress and did a fabulous job. It fit perfect and were very reasonable with their prices. The changing room is a closet, so if you want frills it may not be your best option. But I couldn't even tell where they had altered it the seams looked so good and they were very reasonably priced for their quality of craftsmanship! Pros: value, craftsmanship, quality of work Cons: size of changing room more
