In a City inundated with noise and chaos, Village Zendo is a respite from the storm. Village Zendo, is a community of people who come together to practice in the Soto Zen tradition, to do zazen, come together in chanting services, retreats, workshops and study groups. Participation is open to all. All practitioners and students of various traditions are welcomed to join at whatever level of commitment they wish. The community practices in the White Plum Lineage of Taizan Maezumi Roshi, and are affiliated with the Zen Peacemaker Family and The Buddhist Peace Fellowship. Roshi Pat Enkyo O'Hara is the Abbot of Dotoku-ji, the Resident Teacher and Head Priest. There is a morning, mid-day and evening za-zen practice and a Sunday morning program. There is also instruction class for beginners on Monday evenings. There is a dharma talk given by Roshi or a senior student on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings. This is a wonderful place to find your center and learn about the Zen tradition of meditation.
