talented docs, beautiful office 2/23/2012

Having been a long time patient at Village Eyes, I had to give my 2 cents. I've now seen two doctors at Village Eyes (first Dr. Lorin Vogel and then Dr. Donna Weiss). Both have been excellent; taking the time to help me with my terrible eyesight (been wearing glasses and contacts since I was a kid!) Their new office is modern and chic... definitely check them out! more

Village Eyes Optometry, Dr Donna Weiss 6/29/2011

I want to register my disappointed and dissatisfaction with Village Eyes. I choose this clinic after read in the internet great feedbacks about the ability of DR DONNA WEISS to adapt contact lens in similar cases. After 7 years using a hard contact lens and considering we are in the first world country, I had a great expectation to find nowadays a better solution. When I called the clinic to make an appointment I asked about the price and I was informed that would be around $300 to $500 depend on how difficult would be my case. I was charged $800, 60% more than the initial estimate. We started doing the adaptation with soft contact lens plus hard one; I still was with her assistance when after 3 minutes the contact lens popped out of my eye. I remember her assistance comment: ""This contact lens definitely will not adapt in his eye!"" Dr. Donna Weiss asked me to go home and try during one week; it is true she advises me that I would have to pay $300 in case I lose it. It was my fault accept to try because it was evident that wouldn't work. The contact lens popped out of my eye three or four times and in the third day I lost inside of my house. Considering our first option didn't work well, we decided to try the lens SynergEyes but she told me it would be a special order and I'd need to pay around $300, and if it doesn't work I will not have my money back. I already spent $1100 and I can't afford new tests. What she was doing is trying, trying and trying; for it tries I need to pay. I feel like I went to Costco or Lens Crafter with the difference I am spending more money because I went to a specialist. I can understand some charges is out of her control, but I can't understand to pay $800 with the method being a succession of trial and error. The main point is nobody gave me up front proper disclosure of all their prices and fees. I received wrong information about the price of my appointment and I would like to emphasize that I explained on the telephone that I've already had three surgeries in my eye. Also I was required to fill out a form authorizing a cataract exam. I put in that form that I wasn't sure if this exam would be necessary for contact lens adaptation and I suggested asking the doctor if it was necessary. I am sure nobody talked previously with Dr. Weiss and the exam was realized and charged. As I wrote before I already spent $1100 and I can't afford new tests. For the second test I need to pay more $300 and Imagine how much I will spend if I need to continue the processes and do 5 or 10 more tests. I decided not spend more my time and my money but unfortunately I come back to home without a solution and without a new prescription. Before I put this review I tried to talk with her and the owner of Village Eyes and the only answer I had was to continue the processes doing more visits and paying more for the tests. I really don't recommend Village Eyes Clinic and in special the ability of Dr Donna Weiss to adapt contact lens. If you have a lot of money to spend without guarantee to solve your problem this is the perfect place to go more

not the best not the worst, a little expensive, a little overbooked. Dr. Vogel great, his staff is nice but not schooled in god customer service. Do a little more research before going. Pros: heart of westwood Cons: lukewarm customer service, usually late, priced too high. more

Don't go here 6/10/2008

I don't recommend this optometrist. Their prices are marked up almost 300% compared to online prices for contacts. Their fitting fees are more expensive than the average optometrist. Cons: Close to my home more
