Great Vietnamese Food 4/15/2006

I have seen this restaurant go through some transformation over the past 10 years that I've frequented it. The ambience is definately better and modern than in the past, but one thing that hasn't changed is the delcious food! The portions have gotten a tad smaller and the price a bit higher, but it's still very affordable and delcious. I love to get the vermicelli dishes with the pork and spring rolls on top. The BBQ platter is very good for sharing with a couple friends as well. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. more

Value and fantastic Vietnamese food. What a combo. 2/1/2006

Vietnam is a fantastic little restaurant in the Chinatown area of Philadelphia. From the outside, it doesn't look like much--but inside it's a very cute establishment. I think it's a nice place to take a date--but not if you're looking to impress by picking up a very expensive tab. The dishes are fantastic, and really reasonably priced--my date and I both ate for less than 30$. more

Tasty food, great decor 9/17/2005

Vietnam is right across the street from it's main rival, Vietnam Palace. Vietnam has classier decor, slightly higher prices, and an amazing barbeque combo platter. The table are really close together, so you will be privy to your neighbor's conversation. Service is quick and the food is good. more

delicious Vietnamese Fare 8/30/2005

Beware of the dueling Vietnamese restaurants! It's no joke that this restaurant is DIRECTLY across the street from "Vietnam Palace" restaurant. Both are recently renovated, have terrible access to local parking, and have good food. "Vietnam" gets my fave rating because it has one particular dish I like that the other does not have ; assemble yourself thin dumpling skins with chicken, vermicelli, sprouts, carrot, peanuts, and fresh mint. Service is quick and the prices are great. Go if you can find parking... more

Pho and more 8/17/2005

Here's a Vietnamese restaurant that everyone, or almost everyone in Philadelphia who eat Vietnamese food have heard of. The place has been written up multiple times locally and nationally. And as such, they've done an overhaul of the place and renovated the space a few years back, and the restaurant has a hip ambiance. The food is still the same good eat, except maybe a little bit more expensive. Try any of their rice noodle soups (pho), or dry rice noodles, plus other yummy appetizers, and drinks. more

Good food and friendly staff 8/13/2005

I have been eating at this establishment since '93. I have seen their transformation from 2 floors (1 building) to a 2 building restaurant. They even have a Bar Lounge (Saigon Bar) in the 3d floor. Food is excellent and consistent. The lines speak for itself. This restaurant is the same side as the police station. more

Delicious and the price is right! 8/5/2005

Food at Vietnam is delicious and the setting is minimalist, and not gaudy at all like the interior of oh, so many Chinatown restaurants. Salt baked squid is a must item here, as well as the pork items. Service is efficient (a little too efficient sometimes) and the price is right! Great place overall! more

Tasty Vietnamese food!!! 8/1/2005

Vietnam is located in the Market District of Philadelphia. The food is very good and tasty especially the charbroiled pork rolls wrapped in rice paper. I ordered that item along with Vietnamese beer which compliments the meal. A typical meal for two averages around $35, which is very reasonable. This is a great place to have dinner and experience Vietnamese food. more
