From the outside, it looks like a dump but honestly isn't it true that these places offer the best food? Also, this place has been around, well, I think 1976....so for a place to...

Lousy, lousy service 3/11/2009

After 29 years of eating at 'Nam's I finally have had enough of the truly lousy customer service. I had been putting up with it for the last year or so because the food was so good, but enough is enough. Waiter was rude, unresponsive and seemed to intentionally bring the food out in a weird way. Pad thai was served before soup and accompanying bowl of rice seemed like someone had eaten from it. Soup never came out even though I asked for it when pad thai was served. Pros: Good food Cons: Wait staff rude more

Recommended if you want good Vietnamese food BUT.... 11/12/2008

The service is HORRIBLE! Pros: food Cons: service=[[ more

Not a good idea to dine in 6/10/2008

The waiter is totally not trained with horrible attitude. The sauce for the snow rolls was watered down, the seafood (shrimps) were uncooked, the limes were dry, the glass wares were not clean, and the napkins were REUSED (becaue I found food inside). I was still kind enough to leave a dollar tip, but instead of keep quite and just walk away, he was complaining to the cashier WHILE I was paying. And~ the cashier gave me a dirty look and THROW me the receipt. I am not a very picky person, but all that just crossed my limit. more

One of the best vietnamese places in town! 5/9/2008

From the outside, it looks like a dump but honestly isn't it true that these places offer the best food? Also, this place has been around, well, I think 1976....so for a place to survive this long, must say something about it. Anyway, the food is great! Don't DARE eat at this restaurant without ordering their spring rolls - it's not your typical spring rolls - they're huge! And you get to wrap them in lettuce and douse them with fish sauce! Yummy! Then don't forget to order their sweet tea...I don't know what they put in this lil concoction but it's refreshing. Let me see....there's a lot! The ribs, the squid/chicken Krapao, the pad-thai...Oh and this restaurant also offers Thai food....so overall...it's very satisfying...yummy and reasonable! ($-$$). Pros: Food Cons: Parking more

Best Spring Rolls! 12/29/2007

I have only ever been there once, but it was one of my most memorable dining experiences. Definitely order the spring rolls, and cover them in fish sauce (sounds gross, but is so good!) The waitstaff was very friendly! Pros: affordable, unique, delicious Cons: location more

Awesome place! 8/2/2007

This is my favorite place to get a bowl of Pho. The portions are huge and the service is great. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly. Also, the price of the food is very reasonable. The location of the restaurant is a little off putting at first, but the food and the charm makes up for it. Everything seems very fresh. more

Excellent change of pace 5/25/2006

I've been going to this restaurant for years now. The food is always superb, the staff attentive, and a short wait for the food. My favorite appetizers and side dishes are the snow rolls and spring rolls, and I frequently order the crab supreme and chicken lemon grass dishes. The jasmine tea is also a must - very sweet, but addictive. Pros: Fast Service, Oversized portions more

Always Delicious 10/9/2005

I had a wonderful lunch today, starting with snow rolls and spring rolls. The Snow rolls were made with the freshest ingredients and easy to chew. The spring rolls were filled with just the right amount of filling and spices, fried to a golden brown perfection. Not knowing how filling these appetizers were I had ordered a chicken lemon grass dinner, which also had a side of spring rolls. The chicken lemon grass had a hint of ginger, and was very flavorful. I threw caution and my diet to another day, and ordered a dessert of fried bananas with a Vietnamese coffee. I highly recommend any of these items but especially the Vietnamese coffee. H was my server and he was very attentive. He knew I wanted a to go cup even before I asked. Check this place out. You won't be dissapointed. Pros: authentic, variety, fresh more
