I've NEVER done an online review of anything, but I was just looking up the store's phone number and noticed the comments and felt like I had to add my own. Pros: Great select...

Worst

They don't have a drop box so if your movie is not back by closing- 10pm, you get charged. Tonight tried to return my movie and they were closed 10 minutes early.

They don't have a drop box so if your movie is not back by closing- 10pm, you get charged. Tonight tried to return my movie and they were closed 10 minutes early. more

Don't judge a video store by it's florescent lights and ugly walls 12/28/2006

The sidewalk view through the gigantic window does not quite do this nichey video store justice. As other posters have said, it's cheap and has a great selection. Unlike another poster, I feel they are quite honest and in 4 years of membership I've had no problems at all. I do wish they had a drop box. Pros: selection, prices, convenience more

watch your receipts 10/23/2006

I have had problems with overdue charges at Video Gallery. I pay the overdue charges when I return the movie rentals. I was recently told that I had not paid the last overdue charge. Unfortunately I didn't have a receipt from the payment. The Gallery does not provide receipts when you pay the overdue charge, unless you specifically request one. So beware! Don't get double billed as I have. more

New to Park Slope and LOVING IT 8/5/2006

I USED TO go to Reel Life South, but got acid burns by their glares one too many times. Video Gallery is family-owned (I think) and they're not overly friendly, but they're not film snobs either. The selection is great. The stroller mom's are ample, so beware: they rent with attitude, but it's park slope, what are you going to do? more

Suppliment that Netflix account....There's a reason some video stores are still hannging on. 7/13/2006

Where else is this godforsaken country can you rent a movie for $2.25....It's still 2006, right? Wow. Not only is it cheap, but it's independent (both in ownership and in film fare). Video stores are a dying breed so it feels right to support one that really cares. They have a wide variety of indies (both american and foreign) and an extensive older foreign selection. They stock a good portion of Criterion dvds, and the staff, for the most part, is very knowledgable and helpful. They also ordered a movie for me that they didn't have in stock. It arrived a week later, and they called me to let me know it was now on the shelves! more
