Worth a try 9/24/2011

Hadn't been to VVV in many years, but received a gift certificate and thought I would try it again. Delicious food, loved the octopus appetizer. Gracious staff and delicious wine. Overall, a really pleasant evening! more

Amazing Food, Chef, Staff and Service! 2/5/2011

We received a gift card for our 10th anniversary for the Buckhead Life Group and chose VVV, could not have picked a better place! We had been trying to find a place that served Lobster Thermidor for years as it was a long running joke with my husband that he wanted it for dinner. When I called to make the reservations I asked if they had it or could make it a manager called me back and said they could! Chef Jamie Adams prepared an amazing entree for my husband and personally delivered it to the table! We had let him order off the menu and surprised him which was the managers idea! My ravioli was delicious and their ceasar salad is the BEST we have ever had! They also surprised us with a Tiramisu dessert which I am normally not a fan of, however this one was so light and decadent! We had an unforgettable experience and will be back! Hopefully sooner than our 20 year anniversary! more

Best in the Ciry 6/15/2010

I have been a long time patron of all of the BLRG restaurant since I move to atlanta 14 years ago, but I can say that I believe that Veni Vidi Vici is now my hands down favorite. \r I recently had my anniversary dinner there and had an amazing time. My server was Earl and he was professional and attentive throughout my dining experience. I definately grilled him on the menu and his know his stuff for sure, my only complaint was that he made everyting sound so wonderful it was had to decide. I ended up having the gnocchi which were incredible I just wish i had a larger appetite so I could have tried more things.\r Although on my visit the dining room was slightly warm the food and service more than made up for this, and the complementary sherbert the chef sent was a very nice gesture. I can only say while this was my first first to the restaurant in a few years I will definately be back.\r \r When you go definately ask for Earl, the best server ever! Pros: Great food Excellent Service (Alex and Earl) Cons: Slighly warm in dining room more

MUST READ BEFORE GOING 6/30/2009

If you get Earl, ask for another waiter. The bus boys were more attentive. They poured our wine when our glasses was empty as Earl walked by without a care in the world. We had to ask another waiter a suggestion who gladly explained the roasted suckling pig and the lamb which is roasted for many hours and vacuum packed for freshness. Earl explained it as duck and lamb. We ended up with a very inexpensive meal because with his unfriendliness we decided not to get what we always get, a martini, a bottle of red wine, 2 appetizers, salad, entree, dessert, after dinner drink and a bottle port wine to share. We ended up only getting a martini, a bottle of wine, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and that's it. We just wanted to get the bill and go. As we were leaving a Manager did ask how was the meal? I started to say great and leave but thought, no, he deserves to know. I explained what happened with Earl, he apologized for Earl while Earl was staring us down in the corner. I gave him my business card and was surprised that a week and a half later, not even a single email as to say, Please try us again or I'm sorry for what happened, come again and we will get you a different server. What shocked me most, is if he would have looked at my business card, he would have realized I am the Manager of a hotel in Buckhead who refers BLG restaurants exclusively. I guess it ended up in the trash as did our memories of Veni Vidi Vici!!! Pros: Matthew(Bartender/Wine Sommeiler) Cons: Earl - The worst waiter ever!!! more

Great Italian, romantic atmosphere, prompt and friendly service 2/22/2009

We ordered off the reasonably priced tasting menu. My fiance got the ravioli and I got the mushroom pasta to start. Both were incredibly tasty! The pasta was cooked to the right tenderness and the sauce with the mushrooms was full of flavor. For the main course, the swordfish was cooked perfectly and was prepared in an incredibly flavorful sauce. My fiance had the shrimp which was also incredibly flavorful. In addition, we arrived late, and ended up being the last people in the restaurant. Never once, did they make us feel rushed. We felt very welcomed, and the service was top notch. I look forward to the next time we go! Pros: the food! and service more

Great Experience 9/10/2008

My girlfriend and I had made a reservation for Veni Vidi Vici for a Friday evening. We were seatied on time, and the appetizer we ordered was excellent. While she not a big fan of Italian and is a bit of a picky eater, we both found several things on the menu that we thought we'd like. After ordering and trying each other's choices, we both agreed the food was better than we anticipated. \r The atmosphere was a bit noisy that evening. \r The service was about what we would expect for this type of restaurant. It wasn't spectacular, but the server was attentive and fairly knowledgeable.\r The wine selection was decent. Overall it was worth the price and is a place we will definitely consider again. more

We went, saw and experienced great dining! 8/2/2008

This was by far one of our best dining experiences in Atlanta. My wife and I had a reservation for 9:00 PM and arrived a bit early so we decided to have drinks at the bar while waiting for our table. Our bartender Matthew was very hospitable, knowledgeable and made a perfect wine recommendation.\r \r The hostess promptly seated us at 9:00 PM and although our server Steven was busy at the time, he quickly acknowledged our presence, returned shortly thereafter and provided impeccable and enjoyable service throughout the evening. The food is exquisite and simply delicious; and the Ossobucco with the saffron risotto and gremolata was simply out of this world. Scott (Manager) was also very hospitable and helped to make our visit a remarkable one. Pros: Ambiance, Service more

I guess it's true that some folks don't care what the food tastes like as long as there's a lot of it 1/4/2008

Let's see...the food way, way overrated. If you folks only knew of the amount of butter put in some of their dishes. The service leaves much to be desired. The servers (with the exception of a few) are lazy and pretentious. The runners seem to be doing most of the work, yet the servers get all the credit. There is a definite hierarchy among the staff. Oh wait a minute...in most cases you have to be a complete loser to get a job and keep a job at a BHL restaurant to begin with. You could have a comparable or perhaps better dinner at Olive Garden or Romano's Macaroni Grill and get better service. The waitstaff at those places actually WORK for a living. Sounds like some of the positive reviews that mention the staff (such as MATT) must have been written by someone none other than themselves!!! Pros: it's a business Cons: some not-so-nice folks and not-so-good food more

Top of My List 8/7/2007

Veni Vidi Vici....what an experience! My mother and I were headed to a play back in June at the 14th Street Playhouse and needed a place to stop for dinner. I had heard VVV mentioned at work and knew it was close, so thats what we decided on. I didn't realize we'd stumbled upon a gold mine! I love this place! We shared a bottle of wine and nibbled on the bruschetta appetizer while we waited for our meal. The service was great; we never had to ask for a thing. In fact, because they weren't busy at the time, we were able to enjoy conversation with our server throughout the night. We both ordered different pasta dishes, so we sampled each others as we made our way through our own. Everything was cooked to perfection. The toretelli I ordered was great, and my mom loved the campanelle, even the pork cheeks made her hesitant. Overall, our experience at Veni Vidi Vici was superb! I'm so glad we visited, and I can't wait to return so that I can try something else on the menu. I know I won't be disappointed! more

Romantic and tasty! 2/18/2007

We went to Veni Vidi Vici for our anniversary, and it was the perfect spot! We had the combination where you can choose appetizers and an entree--we had the fetticini alfredo, which was probably the best I've ever had! The service was excellent, we had our first course in about 10 minutes, and the waiter apologized for keeping us waiting.\r \r Pros: service, yummy food Cons: a little hard to find more

Service was good for dad and two toddlers for lunch 2/3/2007

I joined two former colleages for lunch here, one with two kids under 5, and had a great time. My chicken panino was simple and fragrant but I only ate half. The highlight for me was how the staff treated the kids and was able to supply food that they liked (and even ice cream with chocolate biscotti). more

going downhill 7/11/2006

I used to love VVV, but the quality of food has been declining over the years. There are better restaurants in town that offer superior food. Pros: convenient parking (free valet), great service Cons: noisy, food going downhill more

cheap pasta dressed in a business suit 4/18/2006

Service was brief and informed. I tried to stick mainly to recomendations, with the pesto app and then went for a Duck pasta dish. The apetiser left much to be desired with ill fitting flavours, a shared salad had almost nothing green and vegatable about it. A chease disc in the center of the plate. When my entre came, it had the appearance of something from macaroni bar and grill, it lacked flavour and seasoning. Left me feeling like i had cheap pasta dressed in a business suit. I enjoyed the experience actualy, it was a humourus experience. After working in the Hospitality industry for 15 years it was interesting to see how badly alot of it could be done. The price was cheap, I just wish they would charge more for the experience and put a little more effort into the food. Pros: Cheap, good service Cons: Low quality food, business atmosphere more

It must be me 'cause I don't get it 2/24/2006

Excellent service. Not a Wine connoisseur, but those who are can judge Veni's wine list - seems extensive. Not impressed with ambience and setting. My crazy lasagna was bad and tasteless. Crazy tasteless! Veni messed up VERY basic things: bruschetta - burnt and tasteless, veal bolognese - just a shame. Actually quite sad and pathetic. My sister, who ordered the spaghetti, did not attempt to take more then 3 fork helpings. Her plate was practically full. In fact, she tried shoving it off the rest of us. Finally, the celebrated birthday girl was also dissapointed with her pasta seafood with white wine sauce. I must add also tasteless with fresh ground pepper and grated parmesan cheese. My highlight was the bread and breadsticks. So those of you who are carb evaders beware! The bread will get you! At least there's bread. Pros: service Cons: tasteless food more

Best part of our weekend! 11/12/2005

The rating was right on target. The food, service, ambiance and wine are excellent! The waiter taking the time to know our name (we had reservations) was a nice touch. Nino, our waiter, made the dinner a wonderful experience. The is price affordable and the servings are more than enough. Pros: service, food, ambiance more
