i will never go to Vanderbilt Children's emergency again it's a shity place to take you'r kids there . there is 2 woman's one of the is old skinny and got a short hear and the other one is fat and short. they give patient's unwelcoming no respect they ask you a lot of questions they act like they care about you'r kids the trying to tell you don't care about you'r kids .what they car about is making money and give people hard time.we love are kids more then any think in the world. i love my kids so much i love them more then any think that i have ever had in my life . i hope this hospital don't let these 2 work there or any other hospital so they don't do this any body else. more

I will never go back rude staff and a heartless doctor 4/2/2012

I had a referral from another office to see what was wrong with my 18 month old that has never tolerated touch since birth and she self harms. I wanted a MRI ran on her so I can gets answers. He ask me questions and would rudely cut me off and start talking. After seeing her for 10 mins and knowing nothing about her he dignosed her with OCD and wanted to medicate her. I told him I wanted test ran and he said NO. I told him again I wanted concrete facts before I medicated an infant. He than said ""well she could have a tumor would that be concrete enough"" At this time I broke into tears, I told him I would not medicate or except ocd until I have an actual test ran. He was rude and has very bad bed side manners. He acted like (Dr.House) I will never go back there I will also encourage my friends to go eles where. I have made an appt at ,Kosier Hospital I should of went there first. more

WORST HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE FOR OUR FAMILY. 2/8/2012

My son15yr went to this hospital because he was having black outs shortness of breath, tightness in chest, vomiting irregular heart rate ,blurred vision, lathargic, dialated pupils and underneath nails deep dark blue, hands turn blue.racing heart and said he couldn't get enough air when he was in football practice and every time he exerts. This is not some thing that happens once in awhile it's every time he exercises.last March was the worst I thought he was going to die.Know he stops before it gets as bad as it did that day,He is very athletic 148pounds and 6foot.The nurse Nancy in pediatric cardiology was so rude. She made us feel like we was wasting their time. She asked my son ""WELL HAVE YOU EVER COMPLETELY PASSED OUT I DON'T MEAN BLACKIN OUT I MEAN HAVE YOU PASSED OUT BE HONEST?""When he went to answer she cut him of wouldn't LET HIM FINISH TELLING HER!She wouldn't listen to any thing he would say or listen to any of us for that matter.""She wouldn't even look at us .I tryed to tell her about his irregular heart rate when his rate gets up to 120bpm thats when it goes irregular.her reply very rudely was ""ALL KIDS HAVE IRREGULAR HEART RATE""I'm not a nurse or a Doctor but what I am is a MOM!My son has no energy when he gets home from school he goes to bed most of the time till the next morning.Of course this nurse had some thing smart to say about that as well""There was absolutely no understanding, wouldn't listen, did not care and made me feel like a waste of their time.Just down right hateful.Never in my life time have we been treated so bad from a hospital as our family was at VANDERBILT CHILDRENS CARDIOLOGY CENTER.With out telling us what was causing my child these episodes when he would exercises they told him to go ahead and do football. Are you kiding me..He passes out every time he trys, to play football. How in the world could they release him for sports with out even knowing whats going on with him.I'm affraid he will die one of these times. When I said that they laughed at me.I PRAY TO GOD NOTHING HAPPENS TO MY SON BECAUSE THEIR LACK OF CARING FOR MY CHILD.If it's not heart then refer us to some one else who can figure out whats going on so my son can be a active happy athletic teenager again..God bless more

The most stressful hospital we have ever had to deal with! 7/11/2011

My daughter is 16 years old and has a life threatening disease, she needs a bone marrow transplant. She began to have seizures and was sent to to Vanderbilt Children's. We have had experience with them in the past and just moved back from Alabama, so had to return there. The first time there, they saw something on her MRI, but told us they ""thought"" it was just something on the film, an artifact. She was sent home and 4 days later she had a stroke, turns out what they saw on the film was actually a blood clot. We have learned alot about her disease since then at Birmingham Children's Hospital (they are wonderful there). We try to be her advocate now and Vanderbilt will not stand for it. They will not allow us to have ideas, opinions, suggestions, etc... The majority of the doctors are uncaring, lacking compassion, and downright rude. A neurologist there pinched my daughter during a seizure and left a raised area which then bruised. This is not professional behavior. They have added a great deal more stress to our lives than we already have with the illness and the upcoming transplant. We are currently seeking other treatment facilities. more

One of the worst experiences ever! 2/14/2009

My 3 year old daughter was transfered to vanderbilt childrens hospital. The hospital we left from had better patient care. Not one person spoke to my daughter throughout her experience, The nurse was rude saying that she had other patients to take care of and would leave my daughter in the ER if she did not take the medicine now. At the hospital we came from the DR's would talk to her and explained what was happening, here they never spoke to her and then spoke about the PAIN she would be going through right in front of her..... she is not stupid, she could hear these comments and of course was scared even more. Not to mention the 3 hours waiting in the waiting room of the ER when we were transferred from another hospital and the Doctor knew we were on the way. I felt like my daughter was a lab experiment so the residents could get more experience, we only saw the doctor once the procedure was about to be done. All in all i was mad once i found out that I could have gone to Centennial and received the same proceedure... from now on Vanderbilt Childrens will not be getting my donations nor my business if i can help it. Pros: ummm..... Comfortable chairs. Cons: Everything else. more
