Nice Place 2/24/2008

I frequent Valhalla almost once a month and I must say it never gets old. Cheap for under/graduate students, Texas beers are less than $1.00 and domestics are closley priced. If your not a Rice student it is very easy to find, park in the entrance 22 visitor lot and its about a minute walk. Pros: CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP Cons: If you cant find free parking, you have to pay for visitor lot. more

Drink outside! 8/17/2005

I love this place because it fits in a graduate student's budget, and is within walking distance of my institution and the metrorail (for getting home). With good weather, there will always be a crowd on the lawn outside, extrememly diverse in cultures and styles. Great for people watching and meeting friends. Check this place out! 5/1/2003

Valhalla is a hidden bar below the chemistry building on Rice's campus that is run by current graduate students. It boasts the cheapest drinks and most interesting patrons in town. Tap beers start at $0.85 and the most expensive bottle is $1.75. The only downside to this bar is the difficulty parking, but if you can find a place in a nearby neighborhood, the walk is definitely worth the CHEAP BEER!!
