Editorial review from Citysearch 3/4/2014

I purchased a VERY expensive vacuum from this company - however the owners (father & son) are NOT customer friendly at all!!!!!! They are only interested in the initial sale - and not the follow up service!! I was in need of a wheel screw, called the company with my model number, vin number, etc. - to see about purchasing a replacement screw. The older man (owner) acted like he had NO vacuum knowledge, and kept telling me I would have to bring the vacuum in for him to see it. I described EXACTLY where the screw went, gave him a model number, and he still refused to be helpful!! I explained that I was in the area, and wanted to stop by and pick up the screw - however he still insisted I bring the vacuum cleaner in! He was incredibly irritated and VERY UNhelpful!!!!! I will NOT be going back to their company - and advise anyone else against making purchases from them too!!!!! NOT A GOOD COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH!! more

same problem 4/25/2011

I drove a long way, since I live way out in the country. (around 45 minute drive). I had called to get directions. The guy I spoke to said he had the belt I needed for my vacuum cleaner. I asked for directions and he seemed very irritated that he was asked to do so. He was very short with me. When I finally got there, he gave me the belt and they don't have a debit card terminal and only take cash or check. I had to write a check for a 7 dollar belt because I don't carry cash usually, like most people. Then, he started telling me how horrible the vacuum cleaner I have is (a 500 dollar vacuum) and tried to sell me one of his. I waited for all his sales stuff about the Simplicity vacuum cleaners and said I'd think about it. Got home and the belt was not the same at all. I called and he assured me that it was a proper fit, even though it was a different thickness and had grooves while mine did not have the same type of grooves (my husband could tell you better than me, he put it on and noticed). Vacuum smelled like it was burning when he turned it on with this belt. He took it off and ordered a belt from the manufacturer of our vacuum cleaner, which is what we should have done from the start! more

Substitute for authentic parts 1/24/2009

I located this shop through an on-line search for Authentic Kirby Vacuum Parts. I phoned ahead to confirm that the shop indeed had Kirby Vacuum Belts. I drove several miles and also purchased Kirby Micro-Filter Bags and Kirby Carpet Shampoo and asked for two Kirby belts. After trying for for more than two hours with my Dad's assistance to put the belt onto my vacuum, I looked at the belt and discovered it was not a Kirby Belt but had the numbers for a part which corresponded to a Dirt Devil. I phoned the shop the next morning and asked again if they had Kirby parts. After being told again that they did, I stated that I had purchased two belts that were not Kirby belts. The clerk/mgr. on the phone was the salesperson who assisted me the day before. She immediately scoffed, that she could not carry every brand of belt and that she had provided me belts that should fit my Kirby. I told her about my problem and she was very arrogant and informed me that she often sold the same belt to Kirby customers and I should bring it back, "" if it was not broken"" and she would apologize only if she had sold me the wrong belt. \r \r I was able to obtain valid Kirby Belts from another source and discovered that the belts were not the same size or thickness and did not have the same tensile strength. If I had managed to get the belt on my cleaner, it would not have had the proper tension for the motor and could potentially impair my vacuum. \r \r The dealer was initially dishonest about having the Kirby Belt when I phoned, then sold me another belt under false pretense and was arrogant and insulting when I advised her that I was aware of having the wrong belt. I would not recommend this shop .... Experience has shown me that doing business with a Dishonest merchant bodes misfortune. more
