I know there's a big cultural difference between here and Cincinnati, but seriously. The people who work in this post office are downright rude!!! I go in to pick up a package, the lady just gave me an attitude and told me to come back tomorrow. I've worked for companies where worker-to-customer interaction is a big thing, and positive vibes are a MUST, even if you don't like the customer you're dealing with. Lesson learned today: just reschedule package delivery online. It's not worth it to try and go back to this post office. more

Worst Post Office EVER! 4/19/2011

I have been in this wretched zip code for about 6 years now, and there has only been a few months out of those 6 years where I haven't had any problems relating to mail delivery. Really, as in most cases, this is due to a couple of bad seeds. Mostly the carriers that make the actual daily runs. But unfortunately there are also the horrible people that manage this branch. Their inability to manage properly is, I guess the real blame for this. I'm sure this office gets dozens if not hundred of complaints a year. But nothing seems to change. After all these years you would think that something would happen. But like I said, out of all these years. The best (most normal) experience I have had with these guys was last year. He was awesome. He delivered at a reasonable hour. Walked up and down the street doing what he was supposed to do. No cell phone attached to his face, no slacking. And as far as I can remember, whether snow sleet or rain, we got our mail. All normal stuff. GREAT! But since (and before) him, its all been crap. Take for instance our current carrier. She just plain SUCKS! Very rarely does she deliver anything requiring a signature. Usually we just get a pink slip in the box with random boxes checked off. And if the weather isn't agreeable, fuggedaboutit! Whenever there is rain or even the slightest chance of snow, no mail. Often we wont get mail on saturdays or mondays either (I guess she likes long weekends). When I see her in the afternoons (no morning deliveries for princess), she more often then not, has a cell phone pinched between her shoulder and face. Sometimes, I can actually hear here coming down the street! Yapping away about some nonsense, at the top of her lungs! Then there are the times when I will be tracking a package. I wait and wait, watching on my shipping widget. An update comes up, saying that the package was delivered. But guess what?! NO PACKAGE. This has happened a few times in the past year. Packages marked as shipped, but no package to be had. When this happens, I will file a claim, but nothing comes of that. I complain to the 800 number person, and they apologize, then they have someone from my branch call me, and without fail, they call at the most inopportune time, leave a message with no name just a number to call back. And SURPRISE SURPRISE, the number they give me is a fax number! WOOH! WINNING! What kills me the most about these cases is that after weeks of deal with this crap, you know what happens? I will get the package. Sitting there innocently, like nothing ever happened, and priority mail IS supposed to take 6 weeks of hell to finally get to you, and Delivery Confirmation is actually only a clairvoyant prediction of deliveries that might come in some distant future. Heres another doozy, this didn't happen to me, I over heard this while in line waiting to get a package (that of course was ultimately lost). A woman was at the window asking for the mail she had request be placed on hold while she was away for how ever long (I think she said 2 months). The person behind the window asked for her name, when to the back, and after a minute came back and said ""they didn't have anything for her."" The woman, asked ""what do you mean, why not?"". the person behind the desk said ""we don't have your name on file."" The woman was like, ""But I called AND came in to confirm before I left!"" The person ""helping"" her called a manager over. The manager said ""we don't have anything for you, we have no records of you requesting this service."" They went back and forth for a minute, and then she asked, ""well what happened to my mail then?"" The manager responds, ""It was all probably thrown out."" and walked away. The woman started crying (probably out of frustration) and walked out of the office in shock. more
