Best Massage ... Ever! 1/29/2008

I consider myself somewhat knowledgeable abut massage and really thought I had been given wonderful massages in the past. And to be fair, I have had amazing massages, but my experience at Village Massage TOPS them all!! Howard is awesome. more

Highly recommended 1/28/2008

First massage in about a year and absolutely loved it. Howard got me in on the same day and gave me a prenatal massage and did a bunch of different techniques and stretches. He even took some time afterward to show me some exercises I could do at home. My husband and I are going to be getting a couples massage in a couple of weeks and I cannot wait! Price is affordable and the atmosphere is comfortable. Pros: price, professionalism, the relaxing state I received Cons: none more

Best massage ever. 1/21/2008

I've had many massages but none was like the one I recieved at the Village Massage! From the proffesionalism of the staff and knowledge of the body I was surely impressed. The have such techniques that I have found nowhere else. Everybody likes different but in a good way. I left that day feeling relaxed and stressfree. Have to say I will go back again and again! Pros: Two thumbs up to a total package! Cons: Nothing except that I can't go back everyday! more

Exceptional massage in a cozy atmosphere but still with professional service 1/20/2008

It was one of my days off, and I had been desperately looking for a massage (all month, but always putting it off!) around the area I lived to ease my tired muscles, aching back, at the same time, return a spring to my step. It sounded ironic to me, but Howard, the guy who answered my desperate query, knew exactly what I wanted. Little did I know he was also a therapist, and an exceptional one at that! The moment I stepped into the converted cottage-massage center, I was welcomed, and attended to right away. Pre-massage, I was asked what all my concerns were. And the massage itself was curl-your-toes, sigh-deep-inside good. Truly, deeply good. Howard likened massage to restaurant-hopping: there are a multitude of selections, and sometimes the more you come the better it gets; others can fade with time: hopefully the experience is the former! He did techniques I was not familiar with but loved: hot stones that felt like warm oil dribbled on, warming my body; long, sweeping thumb-finger-palm strokes, enveloping my body, giving me a sense of protection, and a forearm technique that just had the right level of pressure on tight shoulders and back without leaving me feeling gouged. And it is nice I can ask him things and he will comfortably answer me, without skipping a beat, all in that soothing-but-conversational tone he has. Good stuff. Hopefully, this is a massage center I will come back to again and again, liking it more and more. The prices are also pretty reasonable, making it even easier to give reason to return. Good, good stuff; highly recommended. Pros: service, location, price Cons: none yet! more

Amazingly awesome. Best massage I've experienced. 1/11/2008

I was trying to get a massage at the place I normally went, but they were booked, so I looked up places nearby. Village Massage came up. I called them, and they scheduled me for that evening with Howard. It was a little difficult to find because it was dark and the street lighting isn't that great. I called and Howard talked me through it up until I parked. We went over my overall health, problem areas, and concerns. The simplest way to put it is that Howard is a master. The technique, the pressure, everything. It was by far the best massage I've ever had, the table was very comfortable as well, and I like the sheets they used--very soft and not scratchy like some places. I was happy the other place was booked because I would have never experienced this. I'm definitely coming back. Pros: staff, cozy atmosphere, skill level, value Cons: parking on the little street, poor street lighting making it hard to find at night more

Howard is a master masseuse!!!!! 12/27/2007

I had actually stopped having massages because, regardless of where I went, I was always pounded and prodded until I was sore and bruised by inexperienced, overzealous massage therapists. What a refreshing difference I experienced at Village Massage!!! Not only did Howard take into consideration my overall general health, he actually asked about my massage preferences such as intensity of touch and whether I wanted to relax, rejuvenate or work on an injury. He also asked about any problem areas to avoid or pay extra attention to. The brief but important time we spent pre-massage combined with his unbelievable massage skills and technique made this absolutely THE BEST massage I've ever had in my life! I'm sending my husband to him for work on a separated shoulder. As far as skill level and mastery of technique, Village Massage is the Rolls Royce of massage. I will never have a massage anywhere but Village. We are completely in Howard's hands. Pros: Unbelievably skilled massage. Cons: There are none. more

Why doesn't everyone know about this! 12/23/2007

This was my first massage and it was great. I was concerned at first because the spa is located in a small house but I am so happy I stayed. The atmosphere was peaceful, the music was relaxing and the massage was to die for. I hight recommend the hot stones!!! I thought it was hot oil but it was the stones. Pros: Personal service, quiet, and relaxing Cons: Limited parking on the street. more

Fantastic massage!! 11/14/2007

Fantastic massage, will leave you feeling amazingly relaxed for days. I have had many massages in my life . Thailand, Spain, Las Vegas, Cruises and by far this has been the best. The ambiance as you walk in Village Massage is very warm and soothing. This tranquility takes over your mind and body putting them at ease.. The service is great. Strongly recommend getting a massage at Village Massage with Howard. Pros: The hot stones and hot towels were really great! Cons: No Cons.. more

Definately need to come here for a message 11/13/2007

Of the messages that I have had..This was the best. I have never been into getting messages regularly but am now going to start. I was very comfortable and the studio is very clean and welcoming. It does not have the sterile feel that most message therapy or day spa's have. Highly recommended! Pros: Personal attention, listened to my comments and did extra stretching (I loved it!) Cons: none more

Miracle worker! 12/13/2006

I have been limping for 3 months from training for the marathon and Mya fixed me! I have never felt better. She is so knowledgeable and diverse. She offers discounts for repeat clients and was super flexible with her schedule to accomodate me. Definitely try the new client special-90 minutes for $70. It is the steal of the century. She works out your problems and finds ones you never knew you had. Aromatherapy is excellent! Pros: Best massage I have ever had. Cons: Can be hard to find in the dark. more

Outstanding job 10/27/2006

I highly recommend Kris at Village Massage. I have trouble finding massage therapists that do deep tissue work to my satisfaction, and he was fantastic. Pros: Great personal service, good skills, wonderful hours for the working professional Cons: A little pricey. Not out of line for what massages cost in the same area, but expensive enough I can't go as frequently as I'd like. more

Best therapeutic massage 8/31/2006

Kris is outstanding. I have serious back problems and my pain has improved every week that I've been getting deep tissue therapy at Village Massage. Highly recommend them. Very flexible in terms of time and atmosphere is professional. Pros: Professional, skilled in therapeutic massage Cons: Expensive but worth it more

Fantastic massage! 8/10/2006

At 7 and a half months pregnant, I cannot begin to explain how nice it was to actually be able to lay on my stomach and fully enjoy a massage! After calling all over Houston, I finally found Howard at Village Massage. He seems to be the only person in Houston that actually has the equipment necessary to do a pregnancy massage that allows mom to be on her tummy. Aside from just the sheer joy of being on my stomach, the massage was absolutely fantastic. Before the massage, he consulted with me to determine exactly what I was looking for and he listened to what I said. Howard was very professional and my massage was exactly what I wanted. The facility is also very different than your typical gigantic day spa. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the personal attention is something that you just can't get in most places. Highly recommend Howard and Village Massage to anyone looking to get a great massage! Pros: Personal attention, great massage! more
