It was one of my days off, and I had been desperately looking for a massage (all month, but always putting it off!) around the area I lived to ease my tired muscles, aching back, at the same time, return a spring to my step. It sounded ironic to me, but Howard, the guy who answered my desperate query, knew exactly what I wanted. Little did I know he was also a therapist, and an exceptional one at that! The moment I stepped into the converted cottage-massage center, I was welcomed, and attended to right away. Pre-massage, I was asked what all my concerns were. And the massage itself was curl-your-toes, sigh-deep-inside good. Truly, deeply good. Howard likened massage to restaurant-hopping: there are a multitude of selections, and sometimes the more you come the better it gets; others can fade with time: hopefully the experience is the former! He did techniques I was not familiar with but loved: hot stones that felt like warm oil dribbled on, warming my body; long, sweeping thumb-finger-palm strokes, enveloping my body, giving me a sense of protection, and a forearm technique that just had the right level of pressure on tight shoulders and back without leaving me feeling gouged. And it is nice I can ask him things and he will comfortably answer me, without skipping a beat, all in that soothing-but-conversational tone he has. Good stuff. Hopefully, this is a massage center I will come back to again and again, liking it more and more. The prices are also pretty reasonable, making it even easier to give reason to return. Good, good stuff; highly recommended.
