Since moving to Austin this year, I?ve had amazing haircuts from Veronica! They?re better than the cuts I got from my old hairdresser! Veronica?s very professional and down-to-earth. She always provides prompt and efficient service. She listens to my opinions and offers great suggestions. Also, she understands my low maintenance style and has helped me to maintain my hair?s shape while I?m growing out the length, which is really helpful! She gives excellent eyebrow waxes, too. I referred my boyfriend to Veronica, and he?s been so happy with his haircuts as well! Thanks Veronica! Pros: Ambience- It's not intimidating or stuffy. They make you feel very welcome and comfortable. more

URBAN BETTY IS THE PLACE TO GO! 2/21/2008

This salon is great!!! I just moved to Austin in October and had no idea where to go to get a great haircut. I picked Urban Betty because of all the great reviews and I loved it. I get my hair by a stylist named Amanda and she does a fantastic job! The salon is unique and has an "Austin" feel to it! more

love my cut and color 2/16/2008

I went to Veronica with specific color needs for lowlights. She really took the time to go over what she recommended and even got opinions from two other stylists. I got highlights and lowlights and LOVE the color. I am also growing out my hair from a shorter bob and the cut that she gave me is really cute and my hair looks so much healthier. I also appreciate that they use very high quality products. Plus, you get free trim for your bangs--can't beat that. Veronica is very thorough and has a fun personality. I really enjoyed my experience at this cute salon. more

love my hair! 2/14/2008

I went to Liza recently after I read all her fabulous comments on city search. She was everything all her other clients raved about. I loved how she payed attention to what my needs were and what I was afraid of. She let me know what she thought and I figured she knew what she was talking about. I couldn't believe the end result. I felt BEAUTIFUL and comfortable in my hair. The color and cut was perfect. She also let me know how I could style it for the most ooomph when I went out with my husband. I walked out tossing my hair around. My hair and I are in love with Liza. Pros: Liza, the staff and the cute salon! Cons: ....not much of anything more

Best haircut I ever had! 2/12/2008

I just moved to Austin in December and was in desperate need of a cut. I met Amanda at the clothing store I work at called MOJO. She was so friendly and easy going. So I decided to get it a go. Dude, I loved my awesome new haircut and highlight that Amanda give me. I am so happy that I found the right salon for me. Pros: I like the fact that the salon is up chairs. more

Great cut, at a very good price! 2/6/2008

Being new to the area and very particular about my hair I visited numerous so called 'top eschelon salons' in Austin. I'm a male w/ a slightly receding hair line and at all of these aforementioned salons I would spend top dollar for cuts that did not go well with my head/face. That was until I found Urban Betty, and Veronica in particular on this very website, CitySearch. Veronica is great w/ a Mens haircut as she makes a great cut that fits the person she is working with. Being pleasant, upbeat, and having a good price on her cuts puts her over the top. Plus, the ongoing compliments on my hair don't hurt! :) more

Veronica made me a new woman! 2/5/2008

Veronica took my outdated style and color and created a modern, sassy, easy to maintain style that has brought me numerous compliments. It wasn't easy to go from very long, straight hair to a short, "messy" bob, but Veronica convinced me it was the right thing to do. I absolutely LOVE the new look and how easy it is to style. My husband has even commented on how much he likes my new look and he has never commented on my hair before. The salon is very relaxed and informal - rather like visiting a friend's house. It's also located near great shopping and restaurants if you want to make a day of it. more

Veronica at Urban Betty is THE best!!! 2/1/2008

I was very nervous about going to a new hair dresser when I moved down here. I'm very picky when it comes to my hair, but Veronica actually did a way better job than my previous hair dresser, who I had been going to for several years, ever did. I was hooked! Cut, Color, Wax, you name it, Veronica is extraordinary at it! I've received tons of compliments on my hair and have had many ask where I get my hair done. And I tell them what I'm telling you. I think Liza's razor is magic. I come in looking like a werewolf and leave looking and feeling better than ever. Her men's and women's cuts are superb. She is really personable and REAL but even more than that she is extremely talented. Only a fool would pass her up as their new stylist! more

I have been a loyal customer since last summer and I don't plan on going anywhere else to do my hair. I love going to Urban Betty becasue it feels like Austin and like I'm at a spa. I have had the honor to have LIZA as my hair stylist for about 2 years now..and she has been amazing..i never let anyone touch my hair but her..i even have family that comes from South Texas to get her hair cut from her.. we all love her..She is more than a stylist..she is honest and truthful..and always makes great suggestions and keeps it real. I refer everyone to her! I totally recommend that you try LIZA..your hair will never be the same..Your hair will thank you! Urban Betty is also a great salon..that has a funky atmosphere and everyone is always welcomed to have you visit. i have found my most favorite stylist! it's rare when you find someone who's not only cool and fun, but that can also make your hair look fabulous. Liza at Urban Betty is so that girl! i have been stylist and salon hopping for four years. i am very happy to say that my hopping ends here. i get constant compliments on my cut and colour. Thank goodness for Amanda! Amanda has been the only stylist that I have been to that actually understands my hair. I began seeing her several months ago, and have made the move with her to Urban Betty. I have to say that she couldn't have picked a better place to settle in either; the shopping center is so cute (only Austin businesses), the people are friendly, and of course the services are great. Needless to say I am a very satisfied customer. Pros: Amanda's rates are super reasonable, hospitality, skills Cons: none more

Best Stylist in Austin 1/14/2008

I moved to Austin a few years ago and have struggled to find a stylist I really like. After reading these reviews I decided to try Veronica at Urban Betty. I'll have to admit I was very nervous because I'm really PICKY! She is amazing! Veronica is very patient, friendly, polite and talented. The color she gave me was the best I've had in my entire time in Texas. The girl can cut color and style like it's no one's bussiness. If you need a new stylist I highly recommend giving Veronica a try. Pros: friendly, relaxed (enjoy a nice beverage while you are being primped), patient, polite Cons: none more

Veronica rocks! 1/13/2008

I'm always a little weary of trying new salons, despite rave reviews. However, Urban Betty not only lived up to, but exceeded all expectations. Veronica gave me a flattering and versatile haircut that not only looked great for the rest of the day, but more importantly, the day after when I styled it myself. She also wasn't pushy about selling products. The salon itself has a warm, hip, but unpretentious atmosphere. I will be back! Pros: Atmosphere, friendly service, parking Cons: None more

my new doo 1/9/2008

This is a very unique shop. The design on the inside is innovative and calming at the same time. I was blown away by the excellent customer serice. I dropped in because I was needing something new done to my doo. I explained to Liza generally what I wanted and I got even better than I imagined. The cut was perfect not to mention the surroundings were so comfortable. The compliments haven't stopped and I have Liza to thank for it! Liza to the Rescue 1/7/2008

Liza at Urban Betty turned a disaster into a miracle last week. I had an awful haircut experience with another girl and went to Liza to see if she could salvage my locks. Not only did she clean up my cut, she also styled and shaped my hair to look better than ever. And on top of everything, she was funny, sweet, and attentive. I have received a ton of compliments on my new do, and I have Liza to thank for it. more

Great cut, fabulous service 1/4/2008

So I went in to Urban Betty after a friend recommended it, and I can honestly say it was an amazing experience. From the welcoming staff, to the fantastic shampoo, expert cut, it's the whole package. I was even a little hesitant to write the review as I am scared that my stylist will get too booked, but I figured it is definitely worth mentioning as there might be someone suffering with their stylist. I went in to see Liza and she did an amazing job on my haircut. She cut my hair exactly how I had described it to her (other stylists often cut too much, but she was conservative) In addition to the awesome haircut, I had a great blow-dry that lasted forever!!! Just the blow-out was worth the trip alone. All in all, it was a great experience, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing her again. more
