love uptown china! always great. always friendly. and the fact that they deliver is just the icing on the cake

Worst

Prices are high to not include rice, no eggrolls on the menu, service was slow and food was passable at best.

Mandarin Chicken Dish 7/13/2010

Very well seasoned. Go bit early to beat the lunch rush. Friendly service. Well priced. I've only tried the lunch menu. Near by business folks frequent here. more

Wonderful Mongolian Beef 7/31/2006

Uptown China is hidden in lower Queen Anne on Queen Anne Avenue between John and Thomas (about 1 1/2 blocks north of Denny). This is my favorite chinese restaurant. The food is consistently of high quality. I can venture out and try new dishes and know that it would be good. The ambiance in the restaurant part is clean, quiet and nice to take a date. The bar area has a TV to see what's happening at the Key/Safeco Field/Qwest Field. Prices are under $10. I was fortunate enough to live nearby at the time, so I often did take-out. There is parking available behind the restaurant and street parking is aplenty (except when Seattle Center has an event). They take credit cards. more

not in the same league as pf changs 12/19/2005

and i mean that in a good way. pf changs is ok, but it's a chain and it's huge and not so authentic. and uwajimaya is a great place to shop but it's japanese, not chinese. i LOVE uptown china, and i'm a new yorker who used to live a few blocks from chinatown and little italy. i had amazing chinese food at my disposal 24/7, and the only place in seattle that comes close to serving good chinese is uptown china. (ok, the international district has great places too but i don't know about those). their food is very nicely prepared and served, and will get to your table quickly. and it's just good food. fresh, cooked well, great spices, etc. they have a great lunch menu - several dished plus rice plus egg roll for approx $6. finally - they have parking! a small but adequate lot is located behind the restaurant. enjoy. more

local chinese 9/14/2005

Uptown China is an excellent Chinese restaurant. The food is great and you can dine in, carryout, or have it delivered. The service is fast and the food is piping hot no matter which option you choose. The food is authentic and tastes great- just enough spice and kick to make it yummy. They have great lunch specials that include soup, and egg roll, and your entrée for very low prices. The service is fast and even on my half hour lunch break, I can make it there, eat, and get back in time to work more

Amazing Food and Baby Can Come Too! 6/15/2005

We moved to Seattle almost a year ago and were struggling to find good Chinese food in downtown Seattle. A friend suggested Uptown China and it is now one of our favorite places. The food is excellent - we sometimes get it several times a week. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. They will make almost anything you ask and are great about substitutions. We usually get delivery, but for the first time we went into the restaurant with our baby. They had high chairs and the staff was great with our baby. We are always happy to find good baby friendly restaurants! I highly suggest you try it out either for delivery or dine in - and feel free to bring the little one along! more

One of the Best Chinese Restaurants! 6/13/2005

Out of all the Chinese Restaraunts I have tried, I definetely would reccomend Uptown China as the first best restaurant specializing in Chinese food. They offer wonderful varieties of seafood, chicken platters, chow mein, noodles, and more. One of my favorites is their lobster or crab with the black bean sauce. Their staff is also wonderful and friendly tailoring to all of the customers' needs. Try it out! more

best chinese i've had in seattle 5/9/2005

so when i moved to seattle almost a decade ago, i did so from an area in downtown new york that bordered on chinatown. so i had some damn good chinese food back east. cut to present time: took me a long time to find a good chinese restaurant out here but once i did, my tast buds said "wheeeeeeeee!" uptown china is just great. just about all of their dishes are delicious (not thrilled for their lemon chicken which are deep-fried chicken strips with a lemon sauce), they are super-accommodating with special requests, they have a great-value lunch menu, and the service is always solid. you simply can't ask for much more than that. and they have the best veggie dish i've had at any chinese restaurant - salt & pepper tofu. it's so good that hubby usually has to keep it away from me or i'll eat all of his dinner. that's my story and i'm stickin with it more
