Horrible place, bunch of pill pushing doctors! Was very unwilling to help my husband kept pushing pills on him after he made it very clear he didn't want the pills. They promised that they would do back surgery but after a two years told him he hadn't been a pt. there long enough to have it done. There were visits that they would charge our insurance company for that they made us pay an out of pocket fee for and those were the visits that they would just write a prescription and send him back out the door. And according to our insurance company we should have never had to pay out of pocket. They also tried to collect a payment for another doctors office and told my husband he couldn't be seen by their doctors until he paid it, it was for his Cardiologist. I called the Cardiologist while standing at the desk and found out they could NOT collect that payment! The lady behind the counter was mad and they seen my husband that day! I have alot more to list, but I am saving it for the medical review board, I encourage everyone who has a complaint with this place to do the same, skip the top and go straight to the medical board! more

I would highly recommend this Medical Office. I have only been being treated by Dr. Math for a week and Dr. Math and her PA's ..all have treated me so wonderfully and are truly concerned and compassionate about my pain and helping me. I am a 20+ year spinal fusion patient and have seen many doctors over the years. I would say ....this is the best one so far.....by far. more

Great Staff, Great Doctor 9/25/2011

I've been a patient of Upstate Medical Rehabilitation for the better part of 7 years. I have chronic pain issues arising from several complications related to over 60 surgeries. The doctor that I see (Dr. David Shallcross) is an excellent doctor that has, on several occasions, suggested a medication change that was literally life-changing for me. I deal often with an inability to function some days, and the small change improved that a lot. The location of the office is great, being directly across the street from Greenville Memorial. Their policies are strict, as they need to be, but are very well spelled out in advance. Lines can be somewhat long at times, but usually another receptionist is available to sign in. The staff at the office is friendly and generally easy to work with. For anyone thinking of coming to Upstate Rehab. I would HIGHLY recommend the doctors and services of this medical group. They've helped me greatly, and continue to do so. more

Very Unprofessional, You are justa number here.. 4/20/2011

I cant really say much about the Dr....I never have seen them...You see I live over 40 miles away, I failed to look at the sheet that said be 30minutes early for the appt, it was at 8:00am....so traffic was horrible...called the number to tell them I was running late, got the answering service message...it says if this is an emergency stay on the line ...I hung up..was not an emergency...just running late...Obviously that was my second mistake....I arrived there at 8:13..stood in a line for a few minutes that was not moving ...and asked those if front of me if they were waiting for someone to talk to they said she'll be back, I stepped to another window said I was sorry I was late, and she said they will probably have to reschedule...and she said you were suppose to be here at 7:30..I said I was not aware of that (this is were I had lacked to read the paperwork) so again said well I was sorry she said she would see if they would see me...They said no I had to be rescheduled....Ok.. So now I just leave try to call the office and talk to someone and explain, as no one there asked me a thing just told me everything I did wrong....Guess what the answering service was STILL taking there calls....so they take patients before their ""business"" hours which are 8:30 - 5:00pm, but they don't have a way to contact them...HMMM? It took me till 8:45 am to get the staff to answer the phone because it kept ringing to the answering center. Then almost 5-10 minutes on hold to be transferred to the office manager... Whom ""politely"" tells me in the end there is no tolerance or flexibility, especially from new patients for lateness....we are a business....All I have to say is ....""and I was a number....take heed. I would have given less than a star...but you cannot... :( more

Poor customer service and care 3/23/2009

Upstate medical rehabilitation is a very poorly run facility with the Doctors, PA's and staff very unprofessional. You can never get a return phone call, medical documents take two weeks to get filled out and then they are filled out incorrectly. You have to pay for each piece of paper you need regarding your own medical care that you originally paid for in the first place. The PA's give different results than the doctors. You can only see the doctor every third visit. The office is like a pharmacy, everyone waiting on their prescribed medication. more
