Editorial review from Citysearch 5/20/2013

DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE!!! This is literally the WORST customer servie I've ever experience!!\r Let me explain: \r I had to get a mailbox before I moved from San Diego to Austin last month, so even after I read some bad reviews about this place, I decided to get a mailbox due to the convenient location (I live in South Lamar as well and I don't like to drive much).\r \r Setting it up took many phone calls (the guy NEVER seems to reply to my emails so I had to keep calling to check receipt of scanned forms, etc.), he was HAPPY to take my payment over the phone tho!\r \r So when I got there, problems started: I got a business mailbox where I'm allowed to have as many as 3people along with my business name. The guy in charge started to REJECT shipments sent to my business partner without even telling me, or giving me a slight notice. Not until I confronted him with tracking #s I was able to tell what was going on.\r \r BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE? you are right.\r \r Today I went to pickup my mail, the guy actually TOSSED a package in the counter, I signed the little form, said 'thanks', this guy (a stupid person with a snotty attitude) didn't even say thanks back.\r \r I'm planning on putting a dispute over the charges made to get a mailbox and get a mailbox somewhere else.\r \r So hear me: DON'T GO TO THE UPS STORE IN SOUTH LAMAR. (Except if you are going to the Subway next door, they're actually pretty cool people lol) more

Held UP a Claims Check for no Valid Reason 6/16/2009

I shipped an art piece, valued at $5500. Because UPS had always had a very good run with me, I only insured it for $2200.00. It was a sale item and I insured it for what was paid for it.\r \r Well, the shipment arrived in North Carolina where my customer could hear the glass rattling so it was refused and sent back.\r \r When I went to inspect the art package at the Burnet UPS store, I noticed to my dismay that it was NOT packaged the way it was described to me when the shipping was paid ($173.00)! Unhappy, I filed the form only to have the woman manager tell me a week later that she needed additional documents. I wrote the documents and delivered it personally to the office on Burnet Rd.\r \r One week later, I called the office and inquired as to the update of the claim. THIS TIME I WAS REQUIRED TO HAVE ANOTHER GALLERY OWNER TESTIFY TO THE FACT THAT THE ORIGINAL LITHOGRAPH WAS NOT SELLABLE IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION! \r \r HOW could I ask any gallery owner to close their store and view the obviously damaged lithograph. When I took a fgallery owner, riend of mine who was kind enough to do so, he was aghast when he saw the damaged item.\r \r He turned to meand asked me ""Why are they doing this?"" I looked at him and said, 'because they require a man to come in and verify what is obvious to any casual observer as to the damage on the lithograph!'\r \r As I was leaving I said to one of the staff member there that I knew exactly what UPS was doing. He responded, 'I know that they are giving you the run-around, and I am sorry for that, ma'am""...\r \r I may still refer the complaint to the State Attorney-General. These flatliners should not be running a business!\r \r Sincerely,\r \r Olga O. Pina\r El Taller Gallery Pros: Have done business with UPS for 29 years Cons: Poor Service more

Handy place for mailboxes, packages, copies, etc. 6/4/2009

I have had a mailbox here for two years now, and I have never had the employees be anything but perfectly friendly to me, so was really surprised to read the bad review. Sure, sometimes they get crowded and you need to wait your turn. Whatever, they're friendly to everyone 99% of the time, and they have all the services you'd expect: mailboxes, copy machines, package mailing (and I think wrapping?), and a few mailing supplies. Entirely positive experience. Pros: one-stop shop, good customer service Cons: hours could be longer more

I have frequented this location and every time I have received terrible customer service. The main two employees at this location - one skinny brown haired Caucasian man and an older heavy set white haired Caucasian man are the most rude people I have ever experienced in my life. Today (out of the many, many times I've been here) I went to drop off a package and the skinny man was already helping a customer so I tried to talk to the other man and the skinny man goes, ""Look at my face when you talk to me. The other guy is busy right now."" I was so stunned at what he said to me and told him that it is unacceptable to talk to a customer like that and he started accusing me of yelling at the other employee. Thankfully another customer was in the store and with an astonished look on her face she said, ""she wasn't yelling."" When I told them I ship out all my packages via UPS the older employee looked at me and said, "" We're not OWNED by UPS, this is a private business so we're not UPS employees."" When I said that he still shouldn't be talking to customers like that he cut me off in the middle of my sentence and proceeded into saying, ""We'll let the owner know."" \r Leaving the store the other customer in the store told me that she's experienced poor service in the past and after she saw what happened today she will go out of her way to visit another location. She couldn't believe how the employees talked to me. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has experienced such terrible customer service at this location. \r \r I have filed a complaint with the UPS corporate office's Store complaint line. I strongly believe in customer service and believe that every business should hold itself to high standards when offering a service and I think people should complain when they are treated like this. Please contact 1-800-789-4623 for the UPS complaint line and please let the store owners at this location realize what is going on behind their backs. Pros: the fact that it's a UPS store Cons: terrible employees with bad attitude more
