Pros: Bargain, lots of majors Cons: They let anyone in, even if they fail out over and over, too many students who don't care! The town of Denton is where my quarrels lie. I spent four years getting my bachelor's and master's. I was just in a rush to GET OUT! You can't get anywhere if you don't have a car, forget bikes. Everyone leaves on the weekends. It's boring. Not enough night and weekend campus events unless you like sports. Apartments are pricey. more

University of North Texas - Denton 8/18/2005

UNT has a very nice, fairly spread out campus in Denton, just off I-35. They offer a huge variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and they have good continuing education side as well, including on-campus and online classes. Many of the students are commuters, but the resident population has grown over the past few years. The new recreation center is a huge benefit for students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Parking around campus can be troublesome, so be prepared. more

The campus is a manageable size--not too big to be overwhelming, but large enough to not be stifling. However, UNT's acamedics are not so great, and many departments are sub-standard. The town, Denton, has some good places to eat and hang out but is relatively boring in many respects and still has some of the small-town mentality that makes it not the greatest place to spend four years. more
