University Of Minnesota

University of Minnesota is absolutely the best university in Minnesota. The twin cities campus is its largest campus. I think the U offers great education and reasonable tuition rate. The student will also need to pay other fees for services such as gym, newspaper, shuttle bus, wireless network etc. Most of the professors at the U are pretty, but I am concerned that maybe too many courses are taught by teaching assistants. more

I graduated in May of 2005 and I would not change my decision of attending the U. Despite people's complaints on rising tuition, what isn't rising in price these days that is worth while. I received a great education and I was proud to attend the best university in the state and highly ranked nationally. more

The U of MN used to be one of the largest campuses in the nation-with approximately 100,000 undergraduate, graduate, and adult extension students. Thanks to a series of governors cutting aid to the U, as well as the elitist vision of the past few university presidents-enrollment numbers have shrunk considerably and tuition has spiked. Tuition has risen from $50 a credit in the early 90's, to about $300 a credit today (not to mention $1,000s of dollars in hidden "fees" assessed on top of tuition each semester). Has this increased the quality of students. No. Has this decreased the number of middle and lower income students. Yes. As a land grant university, and the only public institution confering a number of unique undergraduate and graduate degrees within a hundred-plus mile radius of the Twin Cities-the U should do better in living up to it's role as a PUBLIC university. more

The University of MN is the best University around, boasting a diverse student population and diverse classes as well. The faculty are all well-educated and some world renown. The campus may seem too big at first, but eventually it gets smaller as you learn to navigate your way around. With buses to shuttle the masses to class during the winter, as well as an underground walkway, the bitter cold will be no excuse to skip class due to frost bite. more
