This place is so boring. When you pay for a public school, you get a public school education. Bureaucracy is awful and paperwork never gets processed. A lot of times people end up...

Great Campus 6/4/2006

UIC is real close to where I live. I have a lot of neighbors who attend this college. They all really seem to like it. The campus is nearby and it is an easy commute. Most of them take the train, but there is also convenient parking for people who drive. The class sizes are pretty big. The campus is big too. There are many buildings and many classes offered at various timings to make it convenient for everyone. UIC offeres both undergraduate and graduate courses for students. more

A nice public school-- the student body is pretty large here. You'll find commuters and people who dorm here. The class sizes are real big too. The school, itself, is huge. The campus is really big. The school is pretty cheap, especially compared to the many private univierstities in Chicago. UIC offers a wide variety of programs. Their pharmacy program is really good here. more

UIC Is OK with ME 5/14/2006

This state, public school is overall a fine place to get an education. Their other campus is in Champiagn,IL. It seems like it would be more fun to go and live at the Champiagn campus, but I'm sure those that go to our Chgo. campus know how to party (maybe too much sometimes). I have gone to several concerts and even a wrestling meet on their campus at the UIC Pavillion and like coming to this area which is now getting some of the much needed improvements that were missing before. more

Affordable Option 4/20/2006

I think UIC is definitely a great option for school in Chicago. For one, it is really really reasonably priced. While most of the private schools in Chicago will run you well over $18,000, this place is a big money saver. The quality of education here is great too. They have a huuuge campus and lots of students here so there's a great social life at this school. Academically, they offer lots of classes here and have some great programs to take advantage of. Overall, this is a great option for your studies, because you will be getting a great education, a wonderful experience, and all that for a reasonable price. more

UIC 4/18/2006

UIC is a great public school. Lately, they have been hiring professors with a bit more prestige and experience. It is definitely not the same school it was just ten years ago. UIC also has excellent programs to help you get your foot in the door of your future career. For example, UIC is linked up with the Field Museum to provide anthropology majors an opportunity to network. Not to mention it's an excellent price for a great education. more

You get what you pay for 3/20/2006

This place is so boring. When you pay for a public school, you get a public school education. Bureaucracy is awful and paperwork never gets processed. A lot of times people end up taking an extra class or fufilling an excess requirement because the documents weren't in their file when it came town to graduate. I've had to send transcripts 4 or 5 times (at $4 a pop) because they never sent it and have been disqualified for scholarships before because of a UIC glitch. The architecture is depressing but on the bright side, University Village is nice. more

UIC - go Flames ! 3/19/2006

I graduated from UIC and generally I enjoyed my years studying here. The master plan of the campus design was a funky creation by Walter Netsch. Planners have been trying for decades to make the campus more user-friendly, and after passing through the other day it definitely seems like a cheerier place to go to school. more

UIC 8/21/2005

The University of Illinois at Chicago is a great public university in Chicago. They have a variety of academic programs, an honors college, and some of the best researchers from the city. The cost of an undergraduate education at UIC makes it have great value. Being in the city of Chicago, students attending UIC will never be bored since they are only a train-ride from downtown. more

Public Univeristy in Chicago. Wonderful grad and med program. Close to greek town. They are separated into two campuses east and west. East is primarily undergrad and west is grad school. more

Great inexpensive undergraduate and graduate school 8/9/2005

The University of Illinois at Chicago was made to fulfill the need of an affordable but good undergraduate program. Tuition for residents of Illinois is fairly cheap compared to the high tuitions of Northwestern or U of C. it is divided into two campuses East for undergrads and West for medical and grad school. The surrounding neighborhoods is so -so, though it is near Greek Town. The classes are usually huge, so don't expect as much personal attention by the professor let alone them knowing your name and face. Their grad program is highly ranked, especially for their med, dental, pharmacy and biological sciences programs. Paying for masters is easy due to grad assistantships. and grad school is covered by teaching assistantships for the tuition and stipend. more
