This place captured my heart. It's more architecturally beautiful than king Henry viii castle in London. This campus is so big I feel like I could get

Historic Campus 5/20/2006

You can see the gothic style school buildings from a distance. As you approach the university you can sense the history to this old campus and it's ominous buildings. The surrounding neighborhoods are not as attractive as the campus area. There are a number of cafes and shops on 57th street and 53rd street worth checking out. Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture is another factor for visiting this area. The Robie House (one that he designed) is in this area. Not everbody is exactly friendly around here so be warned. more

Where fun ends, and education begins... 8/21/2005

The University of Chicago is a highly ranked university in Illinois by US News. I have taken seminars there and see that students there are really into education and studying. The events and multicultural shows they host are outstanding. The school is full of intelligent students and professors. The University of Chicago is where fun ends and studying begins. more

Great Undergraduate School 8/9/2005

The Univeristy of Chicago is one of the top 20 schools in the nation. It has one of the most nobel laureate faculities too and most of them still teach undergraduate classes. It is located in Hyde Park in chicago's south side and the campus is surprisingly small compared to other institutions. I have to praise their financial aid dept for granting so many grants/scholarships to assist the needy so that the students do not have to pay the full $35000+ a year. Each year's class is not too big, and each class size ranges from 100-200 for general classes to 20 in more specialty classes. I was even in a class of just 6 people for some senior classes. Their athletics facility is awesome as are their intramural clubs. If you ever wanted to learn a skill or sport, there is so much to offer in the evenings. Their dormatories are good, ranging from hotel style in Shoreland, to doubles in Pierce, and singles in Maclean house. Their cultural clubs are great too. Kudos to CUSA for their yearly new year show!! more
