The SceneRed lights reflect on the faces of barely-legal Lincoln Parkers. They wear jeans and haven't yet shunned Coors for cosmos--no specialty drinks here anyway--and they don't mind that the floor is filthy and duct-taped in spots. They sit and stand in small groups in sectioned-off spaces throughout the large bar. Couches, chaise lounges and cocktail tables give patrons plenty of options to park it or just toss their coats as they hit the raised dance floor by the floor-to-ceiling windows.The DrawThe color theme is a little overdone, but a reminder this club has the same owners as Joy Blue, a more established sister bar on Southport. Cherry Red tries hard to hip it up with psychedelic projections and splashy murals. It succeeds better with skillful DJs and a coordinated percussionist with drums, maracas and other Caribbean-music equipment.
