1) Signed up for "Interaction Design" and the class ended up being NOTHING like the course description. It was HEAVY coding- NO design at all (misleading) 2) Tried to request a refund. NO RESPONSE. No one picked up phone calls and there was no one to talk to about the issue. 3) Sent email to EVERY email address and a certified letter stating why I wanted a refund on the class. DENIED!!! I will NEVER recommend ANY working professional enrolls here. I'm not satisfied with how a "top tier" school manages their extension program. This is a joke! Go to SFSU, that school has it together. more

The classes are awesome- class sizes are small for many of them, and you really get to know your professor and vice versa. The classes are a bit expensive, at least for me, but you definitely learn a lot more than if the classes at a local community college. Awesome! Fun! more

variety of classes 8/20/2005

taken several classes at the UC Berkeley extension. i did an on line biology course that i used to get credit for at my current job. this class was as good as you could expect for an on line class--you get out of it what you put into it. i also have taken art classes at the art extension, which is part of the ASUC. i found the art extension pretty fun. the people, including the staff, are a lot of fun, laid, back, and very helpful. a con of taking classes at Berkeley though, would be the fact that parking is so hard in the area. you really have to plan for extra time to just drive around and find parking. more

Stepping Stone 8/20/2005

The UC Berkeley Extension program is a great way to slowly ease yourself back into school. Every year there are a lot of students who go through a semester of Extension before entering UC Berkeley full time. Classes are reasonably priced since it is part of the UC system. There are a lot of offerings and the class sizes are still fairly small. more

Better than the main campus 7/11/2005

Oh well what can I say, at least the extension is better than the main campus. At least the extension is taught sometimes by graduate student instructors who actually cares about education rather than those stuck up professors who does research and consulting ( read, earn big money ) all day. If you enroll in extension, your GPA also won't count towards your main campus grade I heard. This is good since most classes at Berkeley are killer. more
