The corporate site and the local store don't talk at all. Somewhere between the local store and the call center things were completely goofed up. You choose who to blame but the whole thing sucked.
i sent an email through the UHAUL web site on Sunday the 31st to arrange for a hitch install. no confirmation received. I called the local number on Monday to schedule the appointment. they quoted a price and told me that I had already had an appointment scheduled for Thursday the 4th. No one had contacted me about the appointment, but I was told the hitch was there and reserved for me. I called the next day to confirm the price and change the time to Friday the 5th at 7am. I get to the UHAUL on Friday at 7am and they weren't initially aware I was supposed to be there, didn't have the hitch, didn't have a manager to talk to, couldn't find another hitch in the area, and were supposed to call me back about a plan and haven't. I have a trip planned on Saturday the 6th requiring the hitch and they left me completely in a lurch with no repercussions whatsoever. The guy at the store said that I should have talked to the store directly and that the call center probably just told me what I wanted to hear to get the deal done with. I thought I WAS talking to the store directly. In addition, the call center said that they normally receive phone calls when the store is busy so I don't have to wait. I was physically watching the guy in the store as I spoke to them. The store was empty and he was doing nothing. This is bogus.
