U-Plumb-It

It is rare to find a place where you get service at the level U-Plumb-it consistently provides. I recently replaced my first water heater and knew to buy the heater and set it up then take pictures of all the connections and go straight to U-Plumb-it for the necessary connectors. They take their time with you while one might think they would raise their prices to cover the service they provide, they simply do not. The parts I bought were comparable in price to the big house hardware stores where the advice you get is marginal at best and understandably so. U-Plumb-It is staffed by people who know what you are trying to do and rush around the store pulling the parts you need sending you home to complete a job you never thought possible. I find this shop a blessing and encourage all to patronize them whenever trouble takes you into a do-it-yourself situation. more

Okay, well...I know nothing about plumbing, Im just a student at UH. I walked into this store thinking god, theres so much stuff how am i ever going to find what i need. But a nice young man walked right up to me and asked me how i was doing, what i was looking for. Well I was there looking to replace a couple of stems from this ancient leaking faucet probably as old as the bible. Also i needed to replace the pipes under my sink. Well this kid knew exactly what kind of stem i needed and he Had it! Then he even told me how to fix my running toilet. So any of you DIYers who dont want to patrol the internet or deal the homedepot types....all i can say is go to u-plumb-it. Its located close to the heart of the montrose between allen pkwy and uhh w. gray next to that boat shop. Gibbs more

28 years ago I was an apprentice plumber in Houston. I now live in Portland Oregon and own a plumbing and electric company. During my apprenticeship, an old fellow at U Plumbit would advise on various jobs I was doing (I had to moonlight as an apprentice). He always gave clear instructions and made sure I had the right material. I am now building a U Plumbit website to assist the Portland do-it your selfer. I went to this place after SUFFERING from a leaky shower for more than a month or so and it was reflective in my bill. My wife was threatening to call a plumber so I figured what the hell. I went in and was immediately waited on by some guys who knew their plumbing.I had been to Home Depot about ten times and could never find anyone who knew what the hell he/she was talking about-these guys did. They replaced the worn out washer on my cartridge and suggested that I replace another part-sold me the tool and fifteen bucks later I was outta there. I jetted home, it took about fifteen minutes AND THE LEAK OR POURING has FINALLY STOPPED. I love that place. Pros: these guys know their profession,very knowledgeable Cons: parking and distance, they need more locations more

U Plumb it rocks. I have an old house that has needed several plumbing repairs. From the smallest job to the largest, the staff at U Plumb It had great tips and information that helped me get the job done. These guys know their stuff and can save you some serious coin. Pros: knowledgeable staff, good prices, perfect for the do it yourself home repair Cons: limited availability of specialty items, but they can usually get them in within a couple of days more
