Don't Waste Your Time OR Money 9/10/2011

I 've had several bad experiences with this restaurant, but thought I would give it one more try today because I love their chicken dumplings. I got a waitress named Mary Ann - blond hair with pony tail. She was rude to me the minute I sat down, yet cordial to other customers. She threw down my menu, my food and my check like she wished I would go away. I left without giving her a tip. I will not reward a waitress for bad behavior. Sad thing is that I'm a really good tipper and she's the loser. I told the check out person about the rudeness, and will follow up w/ owner about this incident. Too many good places to put up with this kind of behavior. more

Classic home cooking!!! 3/21/2011

Some of the best food in town. Remember when good food filled you up and made you feel better after a long day? This place does that every time! I enjoy the daily specials and the fresh ground hamburgers. Saturday breakfast is worth the wait, fresh eggs, grilled potatoes and fluffy biscuits just like granny's. more

Nope...no more and never again! 1/28/2011

Formerly a great cafe. Now, it's just another cafe. New owners have cut staff and expenses drastically. Surly waitstaff and poor quality food. And don't complain or you'll get an earful about the difficulties operating an eatery. There are too many other restaurants nearby so don't waste your time and money at the Triple A. more

Just like Mom's Home Cookin! 7/16/2006

If you want good hometown (like Mom used to make) cookin' - this is the place! Most of the cooks have been there for years and they know their stuff! I think the veggie's come straight from the Farmer's Market next door! Dumplin's Special served on Thursdays and Saturdays is mmmm...mmmm...good! Pros: Good food at a reasonable food. more

Best Mom and Pop Home cooking 1/4/2006

Everytime we go there it is a blast back to a mom and pop's diner. The food is great! Fresh vegetables everyday. The waitresses are so friendly and we have never had a bad experience there. Pros: Friendly, Good Food, Homey Atmosphere more

Best Fried Chicken in Houston 10/30/2002

Undoubtably the best fried chicken in Houston. I've tried many other places and no one does it better. Plus you can call ahead to help speed up the process. I've never had anything else there but it looks good. Definitely a throwback to the past. more
