Normally I do not like badmouthing places, but after having an experience from hell here, I feel obligated to pass on my tail of woe. I went into this salon for their advertised $45 wash/cut/blowdry. They sat me down and proceded to comb my hair when it was dry, so it looked rather horrible. I tell the woman what I want before she convinces me that I have to have layers even though I had asked for no layers. Then a man comes over and tells me that no matter how I cut my hair, its going to look bad because of the color. (I am growing out a black color and my roots are a medium brown.) So they start telling me they will strip out the black and put in some highlights and I'm almost going along with the idea of being a near-blonde. Then the woman cuts my hair without washing it and it looks horrible. I wait there while they "price things out" for me. They come back and say it will be $300 to do the color, and I am SHOCKED as all I wanted was a $45 blunt cut. Not to mention I can't afford to pay this much on my hair right now. So I sit there, practically close to tears because I can't pay to fix the color but as they've stated I'm going to look bad if I don't. Finally, the woman who cut my hair returns and asks if I just want to wash and dry my hair. FINALLY. So the hairwasher talks me into a $20 conditioning treatment which I decide is okay. The woman finishes cutting my hair and blowdries it. It's looks fairly decent. I go to pay and the receptionist says $46 and then is stopped by my hair dresser for what I think is the $20 conditioning treatment. Then she looks at me and says $93!!!!! Apparently the extra $25+ dollars was a charge for the time they spent telling me how bad I looked! I'm telling you, I left there FURIOUS, having spent $110 when all was said and done, feeling absolutely miserable and disappointed that once again I had layers on my head where I didn't want them. I felt completely manipulated, my self-esteem suffering for their financial gain.
Pros: Hairwashers
Cons: pushy staff that made me feel bad about myself
