Affordable Central Place to Sleep 6/15/2010

It's an old building that appears to be going through a remodel. So I think some rooms are a little nicer than others. But hey it's a budget hotel! The prices are reasonable, and the location rocks if you are visiting UW or Children's Hospital. There is a lot of shopping, and plenty of great food just across the street. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay the night, then you have found it. Beware the parking lot is pretty tiny. Pros: Reasonable Rates, Helpful Staff, Great Location Cons: Parking Lot is Small more

Don't stay here! 7/10/2008

My husband and I chose this hotel because of its location, but that's ALL it has going for it. We paid $139 for a ""suite"" which is just a row of old college apartments behind the facility. I wouldn't mind that so much, if anything had been updated or cleaned up. The place stunk and the furniture was so filthy I put blankets on it to sit down. Our couch was so dilapidated that the cushions actualy rested BELOW the frame. When I opened the blinds , several panels fell to the floor. The bathroom had cracked or unfinished tiles everywhere. The kitchen had a few dishes, but I made a point to wash them myself because they just didn't look that clean. We used the toilet and it didn't seem to be working that great so we asked for a plunger as a preventative measure. We walked to the University Village (the only plus) and when we returned, one of our daughters used the toilet and it was definitley NOT flushing. We called the front desk and they said they couldn't move us because there was no way they could rent our room out so late(!?) They offered to let us use the office restroom for the rest of the night. That wouldn't fly with us and two kids under 10 who you KNOW will have to use the restroom in the middle of the night. My husband went down to the front desk and they eventually offered to move us upstairs. Same type of room, still filthy, but at least the toilet worked. No mention of crediting us for our troubles. Maybe the regular rooms are nicer, but I woudn't recommend this place to anyone, ESPECIALLY if you have small kids. Pros: Good location Cons: Filthy place with unhelpful staff more

Worst hotel in which I've ever stayed. Beds were rock hard, the carpets smelled like stale cigarettes and hot garbage, amenities were all broken and it cost $160/night. Avoid like the plague. 6/3/2008
