Great Experience for All! 8/3/2006

The Transit Drive In is a gem and a rarity in this fast paced world of technology! The Transit Drive In has a playground and miniature golf for the kids before the movies starts. They have 4 screens that show 2 movies back to back, which is a nice feature though it gets pretty late if you stick around for the second showing! The concession stand is, umm, a concession stand! Over priced and long lines. But the beauty of the drive in is that you can pack a cooler and snacks and you're good to go! We always stop at Walmart or Tops (grocery store) down the road and stock up with fun drinks and treats! The bathrooms are sufficient. Nothing fancy but not nasty and gross. It really is a great experience!! We go at least once a summer and my boys love going! They inevitably fall asleep but the experience as a whole is so worthwhile and memorable! Drive-In's --almost a thing of the past 8/29/2005

I love going to the drive- in. There really aren't enough of them anymore. The only other one that I know of is over in Cheektowaga. They seem to have better movies at the Transit Rd Drive-In. It was great when we had our pick up and lay out in the back. It does get overly crowded and they really need to do something about the womens bathroom. There aren't enough stalls and during intermission the waiting time to get in is insane! You have to get there early or you will not get a good spot. On the weekends it gets so packed sometimes it can be noisy from other people partying in their chairs in the parking lot. I like to be in the front where its a bit quieter and I can hear the movie. It is a great summer thing to do for an outing. You get 2 movies instead of one movie when you go to a regular movie theatre. The price is right. The parking is bad. And the womens bathroom--they need another one. There aren't really any drive-in's to choose from so ofcoarse thats why it gets really packed. more

Nothing Like a Drive In Movie 8/21/2005

There is nothing better then going to the drive-In movies. They are a rare breed. To sit in the comfort of your own car and watch the movies is well worth it. The price to get in is a great deal as you are seeing 2 movies. The concession stand prices are very high. I would bring your snacks from home you will save a lot that way. Get there early to get a nice spot and not stand in long lines. Enjoy the Movie! more

Excellent Alternative to Seeing a Movie 8/20/2005

The Transit Drive-In is an excellent alternative when wanting to go to the movies. The adult admission price is cheaper than most theaters and you get to see two movies. The drive-in is fun for people of all ages. I would recommend bringing your our munchies. Theater snacks are always expensive and the drive-in is no different. The one downside is sometimes you may like only 1 of the 2 movies playing together. Also, be sure to get there early or you will be waiting in a long line of cars to get in. more

Fun change/twist to movie going 8/19/2005

I love the drive in theater everyone once in a while. It's so nice to enjoy a double feature for a very cheap price with the added privacy. The biggest tip is to bring some of your own stuff to eat. sometimes it is fun to even order food togo and head to the theater then. The concession prices at this place are quite high, so they should be avoided. It's always best to not park close to other if you don't have to. If you are a person that likes to talk during movies, here is your solution. more

Good Alternative to conventional movie theaters 8/14/2005

This is a nice place to go if you are tired of going to regular movie theaters and sitting in those uncomfortable seats for 2-3 hours. At this drive-in, you can take your sweetie or your family for an enjoyable evening in your own car. The only downside is that there is only a small convenience stand serving this drive-in. There isn't a great variety in the types of food you will find but still the food is decend. Just don't expect gourmet food. more

Movies Under the Star 8/11/2005

This theatre has been in business for over 50 years. When I was in Buffalo for college it was one of the places that I went to every so often. I never knew it still existed!! It has a total of four screens. Each screen playing 2 movies. Price is very cheap. Adults pay 7 bucks to watch 2 movies. I believe children under a certain age can go in for free. They also have a place where you can buy condiments to bring back to your car to eat. Food selection was great my favorites are fries and chicken fingers. Even the price for the food was not expensive. It's a nice place to go out with family and to have a date. Movie selection is also recent. They play the movies that are out in the theatres. So no worries about watching oldies. All the privacy you need in a car. You can scream, cough, and move around without feeling bad for the person sitting behind and frong of you. Definetly a must if you are in the Buffalo area. more

Transit Drive-In 8/9/2005

Transit Drive-In Theatre on Transit Rd. in Lockport, has 3 screens, a playground for the kids and a very busy snack bar. This drive-in is packed on any given summer weekend night, if you’re not there early you might as well not go. More expensive than an indoor theatre, but more fun too! more

Great for Families 8/6/2005

Transit Drive In is a great place to take your whole family. It is conveniently located off of Transit Road. It is your traditional Drive In with all of the updates. They feature four screens which play the latest movies. Your admission will get you in to see two different movies. Admission is $7 for adults and free for kids under 4. The snack bar is just like any other movie theater, somewhat expensive. One of the other downsides is that the place fills up and you will wait in a line of cars to get in. They are a seasonal business so check to make sure they are open before you go. This is a great place to go for a date or to bring your family. more
