I always just assumed that Trader Joe's was always crazy and hard to maneuver, but come to think of it, I never get that homicidal feeling in the El Cerrito or Alameda Trader Joe'ses. On the other hand, the Emeryville location is the only one I've seen have sushi-grade tuna, and it's at the same better-than-most prices as all their other food. And it's much closer to my house. And they have a great floral area, never mind that that space could probably have been used to fix the design problem. The sad thing is that they redesigned the whole store a few years ago! Nevertheless, as I am used to shopping at crowded Berkeley Bowl, I can usually handle the (admittedly worse) traffic in here. Especially with their awesome chocolate selection.
Oh, and best of all, this branch invented little color-coded signs that tell you what is organic, vegetarian, et cetera - so handily awesome!
